For those who wish to live a life

pleasing to the living God

The purpose of life according to man

(setting the mind on earthly things,

living purely to please oneself,
ignoring the inescapable reality of
death, eternity, and future
judgment)

The reality of God

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power
and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so
that people are without excuse.

The creation of the earth may have very easily been as a big bang, however, it was a big bang
with an intelligent force guiding its creation, otherwise the beauty, structure and harmony which
is in nature would become a near impossibility! The idea that nothing could ever lead to
something is in itself, also unimaginable, the acceptance of such an idea would require a wilful
self-deception. The only way anything could exist is if there was something which had always
existed, and that is God!
Righteousness and Wickedness
Genesis 3:22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and
evil. And now, lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever…”

Hebrew 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he did not see death. He could not be found, because
God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

Righteousness: Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, mercifulness, kindness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance, forgiveness, generosity, self-control, being unconfident in your own
righteousness, esteeming others above yourself, correcting others gently, non-hypocritically, in love.
Wickedness: Hatred, envy, pride, lust, greed, lying tongue, slothfulness, idolatry, wild parties, witchcraft,
drunkenness, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, bisexuality, genital mutilation, cowardice, repaying evil
for evil, drug use, masturbation without lust, lasciviousness, rivalries, divisions, discord, contentions,
strife, seditions, heresies, gossip, slander, theft, disobedience to parents, false witness, covetousness, etc.

Repentance, faith and the new birth

The new birth seems to be something which occurs later in one’s life, when it occurs it becomes far easier
to walk in the pathways of righteousness, you begin to set your affections of things above, where Christ
sits at the right hand of the Father! Prior to this happening following after righteousness is incredibly
difficult, you have a mind which is set on worldly things, however, it is still worth trying to following after
righteousness in this life, even if you never receive the gifts of repentance and faith, because when you
die apart from Christ, it is much better to end up in Hell having tried your best to lead a righteous life and
put effort into minimizing the amount of wickedness that you would otherwise do! I think that there is a
reason this new birth seems to occur at a later stage of someone’s life: it may occur at a later stage
because teenagers might lack the maturity in knowing the eternal importance of practicing obedience to
God and refraining from sin.

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;
neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Repentance, faith and the new birth P2

John 3:5-7
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot
enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them
repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

When you feel that it is time, repent, be convicted of your sins and your sinful self, cry out to
Jesus Christ and believe in Him for your salvation!

It is no surprise, that the devil, being the god of this world, would (a) try his best in blinding the
minds of non-believers (which we see with the godless teachings in the schools) and (b) attack
the true body of believers, with lies concerning doctrine!

1 Corinthians 6:9, Hebrews 6:6, Hebrews 10:26, Hebrews 13:4, Galatians 1:8, etc.
