RCDC V7.0
RCDC will now directly link with models that are analysed using RAM
 General
Structural System.

With this version of RCDC, user can now use RAM SS analysed models to be designed in RCDC.

Depending on the type of members – Lateral or Gravity Members, corresponding analysis in

RAM SS will be required to fetch the required force data for designing in RCDC.
RCDC V7.0
RCDC now supports design of Columns, Walls and Beams with the
 General
provisions of IS-13920-2016

With this version of RCDC, users can now use new IS-139209-2016 for designing of Column, Walls
and Beams as per code guidelines. Option to adopt design with IS-13920-1993 is also available.
Clauses incorporated from IS-13920-2016 are:

 Beam Column Joint for Distortional Shear

 Column Design and Detail:
o Axial Stress < 0.4 Fck (Clause: 7.1)
o ∑Mc >= 1.4 ∑Mb (Clause: 7.2)
o Spacing Criteria (Clause: 7.6.1-b)
o Revised Ash Formula (Clause: 7.6.1-c)
o Splice Length Shall Be of Largest Diameter (Clause: -7.3.2.1-b)
 Wall Design and Detail:
o Minimum Reinforcement for Squat, Intermediate and Slender Wall (Clause:
10.1.4)
o Largest Diameter < 1/10 Thickness (Clause: 10.1.8)
o Revised method of Design for Boundary Element (Clause: 10.3.1)
o Revised Ash Formula (Clause: 10.4.4)
 Beam Design and Detail:
o For Beams Axial Stress > 0.08 Fck is checked as per user choice (Clause: 6.1)
o At-least 2 - 12mm Diameters Bars at Top and Bottom (Clause: 6.2.1-a)
o Spacing Criteria for stirrups (Clause: 6.3.5-c)
o Splice Length Shall Be of Largest Diameter (Clause: 6.2.6.1-b)
o In design for shear Tc = 0 (zero) (Clause: 6.3.4)
o Confining links for diagonal reinforcement in Coupling Beams (Clause: 10.5)
RCDC V7.0
 General Option to assign type “Wind Y”.

A ne Load Type is introduced – Wind Y. For E-Tabs and RAM SS user, wind load can be defined
as per ‘X’ and ‘Y’ directions only. RCDC can now have all design reports showing correct Load
Type as Wind Y.
RCDC V7.0
Improved Calculations and Reporting of Skin Reinforcement detail
 Beams
and Shear Stirrups as per ACI-318-2011

Following improvements are covered for Designing of Beams as per ACI-318-2011:

 Improvement in calculating Design Shear for “Ductile-Special Frames”. The value of φ = 0.6
is used in the shear design calculations. (Clause: 9.3)
 Improvement in detailing of Skin Reinforcement to deal with beams with heavy torsion.
 Improvement in calculation of stresses using combined effect of Shear and Torsion. (Clause:
11.5.3)
 Improvement in Report presentation of Design Calculations
