The Search for Little Mr. & Ms. United


Nations is a fund raising activity designed to
support the proposal to improve the school
quadrangle by constructing a Covered
Quadrangle in front of the school stage that
shield pupils and participants either from
direct heat of the sun or rain during school
programs. It was a signature campaign
opened to all interested Kinder to Grade VI
pupils who acted as little ambassadors of the
school and help in the realization of the
proposed covered court.

The fund raising activity was proposed during the General Assembly and was approved and supported by
the GPTCA and SPG. The SPG or Supreme Pupil Government became the partnered school organization to
spearhead the activity. The approved mechanics of the activity include the following:
1. The Search is a signature campaign pageant that is open to all pupils of Lourdes ES, from Kinder
to Grade VI.
2. The fund raised will be used to construct a covered quadrangle in front of the school stage so
that pupils will be shielded against rain or direct heat of the sun during the conduct of school
programs and activities.
3. Three hundred pesos (Php 300) from the money raised by each of the candidates will serve as seed
fund and will automatically go to the school for pageant expenses. In excess of the Php 300 per
candidate, the sharing will be 40-60. Forty percent goes to the school and the remaining sixty goes
to the candidate.
4. There will be two (2) canvassing schedules. The first canvassing will require the Php 300 seed fund
from each candidate in preparation to the Talent Showcase and Coronation Rites. First canvassing
will be on October 16, 2017. Final Canvassing will be on October 30, 2017.
5. Major Awards include: Mr & Ms UN 2017; 1st Runner-Ups; 2nd Runner-Ups; 3rd Runner-Ups
6. Minor awards include: Mr & Ms Talent; Darling of the Media; Best in Costume; Best in Production
Number; Best in Ramp
7. Talent Competition and Coronation Rites will be on November 3, 2017 at the school grounds.

A total of 29 pupils, 12 boys and 17 girls, participated giving a total of Php 8,700.00 seed fund for the
activity. The first and second canvassing was successfully managed as scheduled which raised a total of Php
39, 080.00. All in all, the fund raising was able to generate a total of Php 47,780.00 which covered the
administrative expenses including budget for the canvassing, talent show, and coronation rites. The amount
of Php 35, 000.00 was turned-over for the Covered Court Project that covered six (6) concrete posts.
Highlights of Accomplishments

On Pupils Development
1. A total of 27 pupils were able to muster the courage to showcase their talents which helped boost
their self-esteem.

On Linkages
1. Gained support from parents and other private entities in realizing the aims of the activities.
2. Secured financial support from internal and external stakeholders to cover requirements on awards
and recognition of winners.

On Outputs
1. Solicited cash amount of Php12,780.00 to cover the administrative expenses including budget for
the canvassing, talent show, and coronation rites.
2. Raised Php 35,000.00 as seed fund for the construction of the covered court.
3. Set-up the SPG page on social media (Facebook) which was able to connect to alumni of Lourdes
ES.

Insights Gained/Challenges Met

1. Proper consultation and coordination with stakeholders is a must for a successful conduct of any
school activity.
2. Leadership and facilitation skills are needed to effectively carry out duties and responsibilities of
committee chairs and members.

Recommendations

1. Consult and coordinate with stakeholders on whatever improvements or activities are to be


implemented.
2. Feedback of every activity implemented, especially with money involved, should always be
immediately carried out to avoid negative issues or misunderstandings.
3. Engage participation of Barangay Council’s Committee Chairman on Education during meetings
and planning for school programs, projects and activities to gain support.
