[TIPL] Terumo India Comes Forward to Support Students


Terumo India comes forward to grant another round of scholarships to meritorious students to study B.Sc
Perfusion at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bengaluru, as part of its on-going CSR program on 8th January,
2018.

This initiative began in year 2016 when 10 students were selected to study B.Sc in Perfusion course at the
Narayana Hrudayalaya, one of country’s leading and most respectable cardiac institutes. The scholarship
was later extended for 2nd year and fresh applications were screened, and recently a new batch was
selected for the same course.

The grants were given on Terumo Scholarship Day, at a ceremony held at the institute. Present at the
occasion Prabhavathi R. M, Principal at Narayana Hrudayalaya said, “Terumo has provided a great
opportunity for our meritorious and economically weak students a ray of hope to pursue their dreams of
becoming perfusionists at a world class hospital like NH.”

On the selection process, Dr. Sandeep Arora & Mr. Virender Bansal, CSR Committee Members of Terumo
India commented “Selection process for extension of grants to 2nd year involves rigorous screening of
applications and comprehensive feedback from teachers on performance & potentiality of students”. For
the academic year starting 2017, 10 bright and deserving students were selected for the scholarship grant,
out of 25 applications.

Handing over the scholarships, Probir Das, Executive Officer of Terumo Corporation, Japan & Managing
Director of Terumo India commented “Give a man a fish, he will eat today, but teach a man to fish and he
will eat forever. Corporate Citizenship is a core value at Terumo. We aim to encourage higher education
and skill development for deserving students coming from humble backgrounds.”
