CIRCULAR
REVISED ASSESSMENT PATTERN: CLASS 6-8
Dear Parents,
This is with reference to CBSE academic circular CBSE/CM/2017 Circular No.: Acad- 14 /2017 dated
21/03/2017.

The following highlights may he noted for the new assessment pattern.
1. Assessment to be divided into two terms.
2. The Friday test cycles and dates remain unchanged. Out of 4 Friday Test best 2 will be taken, one in
each term.
3. ICT to be taken as an additional subject in classes 6-8. It will be reflected in the report card but not
counted towards the aggregate.
4. The Annual result will reflect both Term 1 and Term 2 result. A child has to secure minimum 33%
in internal Assessment as well as in Term End Examination in each subject.
5. The yearly exam will cover entire term 2 syllabus as well as a portion of term 1 syllabus as follows:
Class 6 -10%, Class 7 -20% Class 8 -30%
6. Academic subjects will be graded on 8-point scale with D as a minimum qualifying grade.
Co-scholastic areas will be assessed on a 3-point grading scale, i.e., A B and C.
7. There will be no retest and no weightage will be given for missing any pen and paper assessment.
8. The internal assessment will comprise of periodic test (weekly test) (PT), Notebook assessment
(NB) and subject enrichment activities. (SEA)
9. The student will also be assessed on discipline and attendance.
10. The distribution of marks will be as follows:
20 marks periodic assessments (PA) + 80 marks Half yearly / Yearly Exam = 100

11. For PGD purpose aggregate percentage will be considered.

12. The Grading scale for scholastic areas on a 8- point grading scale as follows –
