Safety Moment
Hold a pre job safety meeting to ensure the Rig Crew and Weatherford cementing Team has a thorough understanding
of the following:
• The job procedures (operating limits, precautions and procedures).
• All individual job responsibilities (Weatherford, Rig Foreman and 3rd party personnel).
• All safety/environmental procedures and precautions including availability and use of PPE
• Emergency contingency plans.

Balanced Plug Procedures & Recommendations

1. RIH open ended combination String.

2. Position open ended String at 4500 ft
3. Hold a Tailgate safety and operational meeting to inform and enlighten all participants of the scope of work and
assign job responsibilities as required. Non-essential personnel should not be allowed near the work area or near high
pressure discharge lines.
4. Pressure test WFT discharge line to 5,000 psi using Fresh Water.
5.  Batch mix Cement Slurry in Batch Mixer as per Lab Report recipe.
6. Pump ± 5 Bbl of Fresh Water ahead.
7. Pump Cement Slurry Volume.
8. Shut down and pump ± 5 Bbl of Fresh Water behind the cement slurry. This volume of Fresh Water should be
reconfirmed based upon final drill string configuration.
9. Switch over to start displacement with Brine as per the final calculated volumes.
10. Rig to POOH, slowly as not to swab the plug, sufficient stands (~ 4-5 stands) so that the bottom of drill string has
safely cleared the theoretical top of cement.
11. Dump the Reminder of the Cement Slurry on top of the PCR.
12. Reverse circulate (bottom’s up) to clear drill string of any cement.

Note:
Weatherford Cementing Supervisor is responsible for taking surface representative samples of the slurry once
the required slurry density is reached. Keep the samples away from Vibration areas.
