The IPSF Pan American Regional Office (IPSF PARO) is calling interested pharmacy students,
pharmaceutical science students, and recent graduates from member organizations to join the
Federation as part of the subcommittes of the Regional Office. Subcommittees are vital in
assisting in developing and implementing projects for member organizations across the region
throughout the year.
For all of the positions, you must be able to work throughout the year in your position and
have regular internet access for communications and for e-mails. You must be reachable
throughout your entire term until October 2019. All the positions are invited to attend the 65th
IPSF World Congress and 13th IPSF Pan American Regional Symposium, and your subcommittee
face-to-face meeting, if one is scheduled. However, attending these events is not obligatory.
All positions are appointed by the IPSF PARO Regional Working Group prior to October 1.
Subcommittees are responsible for submitting an annual report for the Regional Assembly.
During their mandate, inactive subcommittee members may be removed from their positions.

IPSF PARO está convocando a los estudiantes de farmacia y licenciados recientes interesados
de todas las asociaciones miembros de la región panamericana de formar parte de los sub-
comités de IPSF PARO. El trabajo de los subcomités es esencial para el desarrollo y la
implementación de proyectos en toda la región a lo largo del año.
Para todas las posiciones, Ud. debe estar dispuesto a trabajar durante todo el año y tener
acceso regular a Internet. Ud. debe estar disponible durante todo el tiempo que dure su
periodo, hasta octubre 2019. Todas las posiciones están invitadas a participar al 65º Congreso
Mundial de IPSF y al 13º Simposio Regional Panamericano y a la reunión de sub-comité si esta
es programada. De todos modos, esto no es obligatorio.
Los puestos están elegidos por el Grupo Regional de Trabajo de IPSF PARO antes del 1 de
octubre. Los subcomités tienen que escribir un reporte anual y mandarlo par al Asamblea
Regional. Durante su mandato, los miembros inactivos de los subcomités pueden ser quitados

The main responsibility of this Subcommittee is to provide written (and verbal, if needed)
translation for the Regional Office’s complete range of publications to reach a maximum
number of students across the region and to increase IPSF relevancy to non-native English
speaking individuals and organizations. Due to the multilingualism prevalent in our region, the
work of the Translations and Communications Subcommittee is essential. Subcommittee
members could also be requested to assist in editorial work for the Regional Office.
The main objective of this Subcommittee is to assist in the development of all media and
promotional material used for public health campaigns, official announcements, event
promotions, and more. Creativity is an essential quality for these subcommittee members who
are responsible for the publications of the Regional Office. Subcommittee members will also
assist in reviewing published material if required.
This Subcommittee encompasses various IPSF portfolios (the three P’s), notably public health,
professional development, and pharmacy education. The main focus of this subcommittee is to
create and develop projects and content related to the various portfolios for the Regional
Office as well as provide assistance regarding these portfolios to member organizations.
Currently, there are four sub-coordinator positions in this subcommittee, which are:
Humanitarian (Vampire Cup, human rights, and more)
Public Health (Diabetes Mellitus, Health Living, and more)
Professional Development (IPSF PD events, pharmacy profession awareness, industry
skills, and more)
Pharmacy Education (research in pharmaceutical sciences and more)
Humanitarian Sub-coordinator
The Public Health Sub-coordinator is tasked with developing public health campaigns
throughout the year. Within IPSF PARO, the focus projects are the Diabetes Mellitus Awareness
campaign, which is held in November, and the Healthy Living campaign, which takes place
during the times determined by the IPSF Public Health Committee and/or by this Sub-
coordinator. Various public health projects are also encouraged to be developed throughout
the year.
The IPSF PARO Membership Promotion Subcommittee mainly works to establish contact and
secure communication with potential member organizations across the region in order to
promote IPSF and its activities. The Subcommittee requires motivated individuals who will take
the initiative of spreading the IPSF spirit! Subcommittee members could also be requested to
connect and maintain contact with existing IPSF PARO member organizations as well as
contribute to establishing external relations within the region.
Este Subcomité tiene varios proyectos de IPSF, como los de salud pública, el desarrollo
profesional y la educación farmacéutica. El objetivo principal de este Subcomité es crear y
desarrollar diferentes campañas sobre estos proyectos y también brindar asistencia sobre
estas campañas y actividades a las organizaciones miembros.
Este Sub-coordinador tiene la tarea de desarrollar campañas de salud pública durante todo el
año. Los proyectos principales son la campaña de sensibilización de la diabetes (en noviembre),
y la campaña “Healthy Living” (que tiene lugar durante los tiempos determinados por el
Comité de Salud Pública de IPSF y / o por este Sub-coordinador). También puede trabajar a
desarrollar varios proyectos de salud pública a lo largo del año.
Este Subcomité y trabaja para hacer contactos y comunicar con organizaciones miembros
potenciales de toda la región con el fin de promover IPSF y sus actividades. Los miembros de
este Subcomité deben tener la motivación para difundir el espíritu de IPSF! Este Subcomité
también tiene que mantener contacto con los organizaciones miembros de IPSF PARO y
trabajar sobre los objetivos de asuntos externos de la región.
