Dear Ms. Jones:

Please accept this letter as a formal request for closure on case #26724, Long Beach CSD vs. Lisa
Weitzman. For fourteen (14) months, we have waited for disposition from the hearing officer and we
find it quite frustrating to move into another school year with no decision. The first hearing date for this
case was on March 4, 2016, and the district rested on April 20, 2016. The respondent’s case started on
June 1, 2016 and rested on April 3, 2017. On May 22, 2017 the record closed.

As you can well understand, fourteen (14) months to issue a decision places great hardship on the
district in planning and scheduling staff. We very much would like to move on but the tardiness of this
decision prevents us from doing so.

Please understand our frustration. We ask you to respond to this letter with some definitive date as to
when we can expect a decision. We send this letter to your attention with the hope of expressing our
frustration with the process and our sincere expectation for immediate resolution in the very near future.
