will win the hand of the beautiful princess Sita!
***narrators: move to the sides ulit, same as your formation before this scene

Rama: Oh king Janaka I have come to face your challenge. And to take Sita as my own.
Now what do I have to do?
Janaka: Countless have tried, and all have failed. (Smiles) What makes you any
different? You must… Tie the sacred bow tie. Now be careful, it was a gift from
Shiva. He has very good taste for a destroyer.
Rama: You must be kidding. (Deadpan face)
Janaka: No, I’m not. Would I kid about something like this? And besides I’d look quite
dashing in a bow tie, would I not?
Rama: As crazy as dad. (Mumbles) Tie a bow tie he says. Dashing he says. I’ll show him.
*** Harold go in front of the stage. Do this scene there.(Ties the bow)
***Marco: check the bow first then give it to kyle. Do your gameshow scene.

***Jeffrey, kean and another guy from the backstage and not from the narrators (table) will enter here.
ACT 1. SCENE 4.
Narrators: ****read this while in frontBut as the kingdom of Ayodhya celebrated the
weddings of the four brothers and lived in prosperity, evil plans were brewing.
The king had grown old and weary of reigning over his kingdom. He summoned
his ministers asking about the wisdom of crowning Rama as prince of Ayodhya.
They all responded with a resounding
(shouts) YES!
However, not everyone in the castle was pleased. ***narrators: pause here.
Change formation. (I’m not yet sure about your formation here basta
somewhere behind kaikeyi ) Manthara, the maid of Dasharatha’s second
wife, Kaikeyi was very unhappy. Wishing to stop Rama’s coronation, she started
to poison Kaikeyi’s mind with her lies.
(whispers that will build to a crescendo) Rama doesn’t deserve this. Unfair.
Unfair. You will be a slave. You were always the favorite. (people will be saying
different things) (then everyone’s saying) What about Bharata? Bharata? What
about Bharata?
***Harold, lizzie , and Paulo: hide behind the narrators na in preparation for the next scene.
Kaikeyi: (lays a tray of wine and a glass on table, hugs king from behind) Oh great king,
you still have so much life left in you. Why write those now? (Kisses him on the
top of his head) You work so hard for just one man. And handsome too.
King: You flatter me too much. (Smiles) A toast to the future of my children. (Takes a
long drink)
Kaikeyi: (takes a sip) What do you have planned? (Pours him some more)
King: My son Rama will be co-regent of course. Him being the eldest and all. (Drains
the glass)
Kaikeyi: (pours him some more wine) What about my son Bharata? Does he have a place
in your plans?
Kaikeyi: (pours one more glass) Rama might not be able to take the pressures of being
king, but our son Bharata is strong and brave and a great hunter. Won’t you
consider him? (Looks at him pleadingly while pushing a paper to him)
Kaikeyi: (pours some more) It’s for the betterment of the kingdom.
King: (drinks) (slurs) For some time Bharata can be king, but Rama should become
king eventually. (Drinks some more)
Kaikeyi: Everything is in order, all you have to do is sign it. And let it be a gift, to me. Just
sign and I will forever be thankful. (Smiles)
Kaikeyi: (picks up the paper then walks away) You should always read before you sign,
“great” king. Rama’s exile will serve my son well.
ACT 1. SCENE 5.
Narrators: Because of Kaikeyi’s machinations,**loisirc: stand up. Pace around until rama
and co. enter.
Dasharatha agreed to Rama’s exile for fourteen years. On the morn of Rama’s
coronation, he received the fateful news. ****Harold, lizzie, and Paulo coming
from behind the narrators: walk. Don’t for get to knell in front of the king.
(emphasis) You shall no longer be king. Bharata shall be king. Bharata. Bharata.
He received the news with dignity, ***Harold: stand up here.vowing to keep his
father’s word. Inspired by his loyalty, his wife, Sita, and brother, Lakshmana
would not consent to being left behind.
****the three of you will now exit. You’re supposed to hide behind the narrators pero if you need to
read the script or something, you can go to the backstage first tapos balik na lang kayo sa positions niyo
behind the narrators before act2 scene 1 ends.
King: ***loisirc, say this as they move away.My children, please be safe. Don’t eat
anything strange looking, don’t talk to strangers. Be safe, be safe! They’re gone,
gone. Gone. (***loisirc: don’t collapse. Just run and exit while crying like a baby
:D Collapses on the floor sobbing)
ACT 2. SCENE 1.
**********Kaikeyi will enter from behind the narrators looking for Bharata (“bharata! Bharata!”)
****Adriel: appear from the other side of the stage while carrying a book. Act like you’re so immersed in
your reading.
Kaikeyi: ***kaikeyi will go near bharata. Bharata what are you doing? Put down that
book, only sissies read more than they run. You should be out there proving to
your father that you are worthy of being king! Now go out there and kill
something!
Bharata: But I don’t feel like killing something right now. And Rama will be king, so why
try?
Kaikeyi: Well, your mother is smarter than you think. Your dear father made you king,
just last night.
Bharata: Me? King? That is totally. AWESOME!!!(Jumps up and starts pacing the room)
Kaikeyi: Yes now prove to your father that he made the right choice. Go conquer a
village or something.
Kaikeyi: Oh nothing.
***non-working men (or future narrators) backstage will bring facebook props. (more on this when we
practice.
Narrators: After learning of his mother’s trickery, Bharata turned away from Kaikeyi,
disregarding all she’s done for him.
***move one step (slowmo, creepy steps) per sentence. Maintain distance from
kaikeyi and bharata.(emphasis) Heartless. How could you? Ashamed to call you
my mother. Ashamed. Ashamed.
Bharata: Mother!!!!!!
Kaikeyi: What!?!
Bharata: You exiled him? You exiled my brother? The man I share DNA with? The boy
who told me that the monsters in my closet were actually just gods in animal
form? What were you thinking?
Kaikeyi: Technically your father exiled him. And it was for you, all for you. Haven’t you
always wanted to be king? To have your brothers life? To be Rama? (Pleading
voice)
Bharata: Rama is a better man than I could ever hope to be. And I will find him. And he
will be king. And you. You. I’ll let the monsters in the closet handle you.
(Dramatic exit)
ACT 2. SCENE 2.
Narrators: **** narrators: act here. Pace from one side of the stage to the other. Kayo ung
citizens of ayodhya. The citizens of Ayodhya all grieved the King’s passing. The
shock was too much for him they said, or perhaps his old age had finally caught
up to him. Yet the rumor most believed was that he died of a broken heart.
****adriel: slow mo running coming from the backstage. Start running even if
the narrators are still pacing/ doing their thing
****Harold, lizzie, Paulo: you should be coming out from the narrator’s area.
When they start to move, move with them and pose na for the next scene.
Bharata turned to Kausalya and promised that he’d bring Rama back to
Ayodhya. Rushing towards the forest, he fell at Rama’s feet and asked for
forgiveness. He told of Dasharatha’s passing and pleaded for Rama to return to
the kingdom and rule instead of him.
***narrators: formation niyo sa other side of the stage. (more on this when we
practice.)
Rama: Brother, what brings you here? You must be tired from all your slow motion
running. Please take a seat. Sita will bring you some water.
Bharata: Rama, you must come back. Ayodha is lying in grief. Father is dead, and the
kingdom is without a ruler. You must be king. Oh thank you Sita!(drinks a lot of
water)
Rama: I cannot. I promised and a promise is not easily broken. I will return when my
fourteen years are up.
Bharata: The ones that you think could rule an entire kingdom.
Bharata: If you don’t come back in time, I will kill myself. And not the sissy type of suicide
thats so fashionable today. But the really masculine kind with blood and gore.
***narrators: I’m not sure if there’ll be enough space behind you for the characters pero kung wala,
adjust na lang ng konti (more on this when we practice).
ACT 2. SCENE 3.
(Forest dwelling) ***from the backstage, while bharata, rama, and others are moving out, flora
will enter carrying a laptop.
Surpanakha: (on facebook) Oh how boring all these men are. Too short, too tall, too hairy,
ewwww bald. Is that a monkey!?! (slams laptop closed)
Ravana: ***ravana: you don’t need to show up here. Just shout from the backstage. How
do I live with all of your stupid noise? Go out and be useful, make some chaos or
something.
***narrators: surround the characters behind you (form a concave?) para parang dwelling, ok?
Narrators: ***Harold: from the dwelling, go in front of the stage. Act as if you’re doing
some tools or blah. Surpanakha, the sister of Ravana, chanced upon their party
as they were resting in their humble dwelling. She immediately fell in love with
Rama.
***go near Harold pero not too near kasi you still have to do the makeup ,
dress-up thingy(gaggle of voices, like the first part but just of his body) Oh, those
eyes, those lips, his chest, his abs, so on and so forth
Surpanakha: How original, brother and sister deep in the forest with no one else around.
Probably runaways. Too easy. Hmm, he’s not that bad looking. (puts on makeup
and different clothes)**run(started to run)(bumped into Rama)
Rama: Woah there, slow down. Whats the rush?
***lakshamana: go out of the dwelling. act as if you’re doing something (walking around blah blah). Go
somewhere near rama and flora.
Saurpanakha: Oh, wow, nice definition. (clutches arms) Oh, I mean, oh dear sir, I think I am
lost and I need help to find my way back. (make “cute” face and hug his arm
forcefully)
Surpanakha: Oh, but can’t I stay with you? It’s quite cold tonight. I could keep you warm.
Rama: Oh, no thank you. That’s what the fire’s for. And I couldn’t possibly, Lakshmana-
on the other hand-
Surpanakha: I’d like to light your fire. I’d need your matchstick though, and lots of friction.
Surpanakha: (finally notices Lakshmana)Well he’s not as tall as you, or as muscled. What if a
demon comes and tries to take me, can I expect him to guard me? And you
seem so much braver.
Rama: I am sorry, but I do NOT find you in any way attractive. And I’m married
(pointing to Sita and his left ring finger)But maybe my brother would like to
keep you company.(pushes her to Lakshmana)
Surpanakha: (sees Sita) Ohmygod, her? And the two of you? Lucky wretch! (attack)
Lakshmana: Hold up! (swings sword and cuts off Surpanakha’s nose)
Surpanakha: (clutches face) My nose! Well, thank god you didn’t cut off my—(looks at chest)
You will pay for this! (runs away)
ACT 2. SCENE 4.
(sound clip of an outraged shriek, or the narrators will thump)*** thump change formation. Block the
dwelling behind you. (more on this when we practice)
Ravana: Oh. Now I see the difference. Who did it?(calm voice)
Surpanakha: Rama and his runt of a brother. All because of a stupid girl. Stupid Sita.(holds up
mirror) You think I’m pretty right, Ravana?
Ravana: The “Sita”. The most beautiful woman in the world. Hmmmmm. A worthy
addition to my growing collection.
Ravana: I will kill Rama for what he did to you, and I will take Sita for myself.
Surpanakha: I don’t want SIta pampered like a princess, I want her in pain and stripped of her
dignity. Never to show her face in public again. Besides, she already has two
men with her in the forest.
Ravana: Don’t you think that a lifetime with me as her lover and master will leave her
broken beyond repair? You and I will both get what we want. And two lovers?
Hah, arms aren’t the only ones I have a lot of.
Surpanakha: Remember, what you said. Broken beyond repair. Show no mercy,
Brother.***maricha: enter.
Ravana: Maricha, go and distract Rama for me, do whatever you can to separate him
from Sita.
ACT 3. SCENE 1.
Narrators: ***narrators: form a line in front of the stage (parang curtain nanaman).
*** luis: go to the other side of the stage near the dwelling of sita. Backstage muna.
***maricha: go somewhere near the dwelling or sa center ng stage. Prepare for your act.
****Harold, lizzie, Paulo: move your dwelling somewhere near the center of the stage (hindi sa center
ha).
After hatching his evil plan, Ravana wasted no time putting it into action.
Maricha agreed to aid in Sita’s abduction
Albeit reluctantly.
And a long slow death.*** narrators: two lines ulit sa sides ng stage
Sita: What a pretty deer. Please don’t run away. Oh please come back. Rama please
go and catch me that deer, if you go now you might still get it.
Rama: I will get it for you. A gift to the woman that makes my heart beat faster and
slower at the same time. ( clutches Sita’s face as if going to kiss)
Sita: While you were busy quoting movies, the deer is getting farther and farther
away.
Maricha: AHHHHHHHH!!! THE PAIN!!!! HELP!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!***after saying this
line, run and exit backstage.
Rama: What kind of deer can talk, this isn’t a deer. It’s a demon! How
strange.***rama: after saying this line, run, follow maricha, and exit backstage.
Lakshmana: ***Paulo: you’re in the dwelling right? Rama? He must be hurt! Or dying! Or
both! Sita stay here, this magic hula hoop will protect you. Just don’t step out of
it. ( runs to find Rama)***Paulo:run exit backstage
Ravana: ***ravanah: enter from backstage. (wearing a cloak and using an old voice)
Young lady would you have any food to spare for an old and tired soul?
Sita: Please have something to eat. Come closer and I will give you some food.
Sita: (rushes out of circle to help Ravana up) Please take some food and be more
careful old man.
Ravana: You are mine now! ( they fly away) ***luis: pull sita.
Ravana: You really shouldn’t be screaming. You’ll need your voice for later.
Jatayu: ***james: nasa baba ka ng stage. Enter. That’s strange I never knew Sita could
fly? But why is she screaming? Well I felt that way too the first time I learned to
fly. The nausea, the uncontrollable vomiting; ahhh good times, good times. (flies
up to Sita)
ACT 3. SCENE 2.
*****james: stay.
Lakshmana: (out of breath) Rama? Rama? Where the heck are you!?!
Rama: Brother? Why are you here? Did Sita send you to look for the deer too? What do
you think shes going to do with it?
Lakshmana: You were screaming, and in pain. Why aren’t you in pain!?!
Jatayu: Ravana. Sita. Flew away. Nausea. That way. (points then dies)
ACT 3. SCENE 3.
After learning of their intentions, Hanuman and Sugriva both agreed to help in
Sita’s rescue.
***narrators: make another concave, but now with a bigger space in between (more on this when we
practice)
Rama: Oh look Lakshmana a monkey. How cute do you have any fruit on you?(
Lakshmana holds out fruit)
Hanuman: ***faye: galling kang baba diba? run—> punta ka sa stage. I AM NOT A
MONKEY! (runs to Lakshmana jumps and then starts eating) Why have you
come here? Answer or perish at the hands of Hanuman the destroyer of souls.
(pointing to self as he stuffs himself while squatting)
Lakshmana: He can talk, how smart. (pats him on head) We have some to ask help from
Sugriva in finding SIta my brother’s wife.
Hanuman: Can’t even hold on to your own woman, how sad. Come I will bring you to
Sugriva. And you have come to the right place. They don’t call me the love
monkey for nothing. (bouncy music plays)
Sugriva: (pacing room)Help me take back my kingdom Rama and I will help you find Sita.
All you have to do is kill Vali. My pig headed excuse of a brother. He isn’t even
that good of a brother. Always picking on me and the servants. Always stealing
my bike and then crashing into the ice cream man. He always was mother’s
favorite. She never loved me as much as she loved Vali !!!(sobs)
Hanuman: There, there. As you can see Sugriva won’t be of any help until he gets his
kingdom back. So please kill Vali.
Rama & Lakshmana: (exit stage then come back in ten seconds) We have slayed your brother.
Hanuman: That was quick, you truly are a great specimen of man. Sugriva, Sugriva they
have killed your brother you can be happy again.
Sugriva: Brother!!!!!!!!!( collapses then picks himself up) Now that the mourning period
is over I can finally help you look for that woman of yours. Hanuman gather a
search party. Every available hand must go and search.
Rama: Pssst! Hanuman come over here. I have something to give you.*** rama: pull
hanuman. Go in front of the stage.
Hanuman: If it’s a banana, you don’t want to know what I plan to do with it.
Rama: Only you can find my wife, my ring.(takes off ring) Give this to her when you
find her as proof that I am looking for her.
Hanuman: A ring? After letting her get kidnapped and leave her in the arms of Ravana, you
want to give her a ring?
****narrators: change position (I’m still not sure of what formation you’re gonna be taking pero dapat
ma-block niyo ung scene.
***faye: stay.
Narrators: ***narrators: new position.Rama instructed Hanuman to find Sita and gave him
his ring to prove himself a messenger. The monkey army followed her trail and
discovered her in the Ashoka grove, surrounded by demons.
Hanuman: ***faye: you’ll be behind the narrators pero hindi ka maghi-hide. Nakasilip ka
lang. (monkey form)It’s Sita, must get her back. Oh shoot, it’s Ravana!
Ravana: (enters stage left**)***luis: you won’t be entering from stage left na. position
ka na agad beside lizzie habang naka-block ung narrators Sita be my queen, live
here with me and share my bed. Rama no longer wants you, he has not looked
for you and nor will he ever find you. Why wait for him any longer?
Sita: I do not care! I will wait until hell freezes over. So you can take your kingdom
and go fall in a void somewhere.
Ravana: Is that any way to treat a king. At least kiss me for keeping you alive for this
long. Come on kiss me. Just one kiss. ( steps toward Sita)
Ravana: (pushes her to the ground) Fine be that way, if you still refuse to be mine in 4
days; I will kill you. So decide soon Sita. Your time is almost up.
Sita: (sobs)
Hanuman: Rama has sent me to find you, here is his ring as proof.(gives ring)
Hanuman: Too much information. I will go now and tell Rama that you still breathe.
Sita: Wait!!!(rummages in purse thing) Give this to Rama, my most precious jewel.
(gives Hanuman a cellphone) The service is horrible here. Please take care of my
baby.
Hanuman: Suuuuure.
Ravana: Now what do we have here Sita, a pet? I never knew you liked monkeys.
Hanuman: How many times do I have to tell you people I am not a monkey!
Ravana: Now Hanuman, no need to get testy. Guards! (guards grab Hanuman)
Ravana: Now how will I do away with you? Burned to a crisp? Ripped apart by giants?
Drained of all blood? Or fed to the pot bellied pig? What would you prefer
Hanuman?
****vibhishana: enter.
Vibhishana: (walks in from where he was sitting the whole time)Why waste your time on
him dear brother? He is a mere tool, a cellphone we could say. And it would be
so much better to send him back to Rama in one piece. Albeit a very scared one.
***faye: enter:ulit
****rama: enter. Run, Excited of the news, happy to see hanuman again.
ACT 3. SCENE 5.
Hanuman: Lord Rama, your Sita lives. She is trapped in Ravana’s palace. She is heavily
guarded and it will be very hard to go and get her. Her most precious jewel.
(gives phone)
Narrators: Awwwwwwww.
After Hanuman returned to Rama and relayed the news, they wasted no time in
assembling the monkey army and setting out to rescue Sita. When Ravana heard
that Rama’s army was closing in on his territory, he summoned his ministers for
advice.
(emphasis, gaggle of noises with fight as the main word) Fight. Fight. Fight. You
are indestructible, my lord. You could never lose. Fight. Fight. Fight.
ACT 4. SCENE 1.
Sita: Rama ! (Sita runs to Rama, but is stopped by his hand on her hand)
Rama: Get away from me! (rejoicing stops) How dare you try to rape me! I’ll get R-A-V-
A-N-A-H-I-V.
Sita: No! Build me a funeral pyre ! (shout) I would rather die by fire than be despised
by you.
Narrators: The fires have proven her pure, yet she does not escape the judgements of the
people, of society.
(Narrators and people gather around them, pulling them away from each
other)(gaggle of voices again, rising into a crescendo) Defiled, defiled, she is
defiled, whore, how could you lay with Ravana, Ravana, the enemy, (so on and
so forth until they are separated)(Then Rama walks away of his own free will
and the Earth swallows her up)
