Aim : The aim of this experiment is to determine the relationship between period of oscillations, T and length of pendulum, m.

Diagram 2
Procedure
1 Tie one end of the tread to a brass bob and the other end is clamped to the retort clamp with the help of two pieces of coin.
2 Adjust the tread so that the length from the point it is clamped to the center of the bob , L is 20.0cm
3 Oscillate the pendulum bob at a small angle of about 10°.
4 Measure the time,t1 for 10 complete oscillations.
5 Measure the time,t2 for another 10 complete oscillations.
6 Determine the average of t1 and t2 and record the value as t.
7 Calculate period of oscillations, T = average time taken for 10 oscillations, t

8 Repeat procedure 2 to 7 for length of pendulum, L = 30·0 cm, 40·0 cm, 50·0 cm and 60·0 cm
