Materials  (1d-‐  DemonstraBng  knowledge  of  resources):
Computer,  PPT,  Promethean  board,  student  selected  novels,  Book  Club  Assessment  Slips,  DOK  Chart,  BHH  Packet

Differen/a/on  and  Mods  (1b-‐  DemonstraBng  knowledge  of  students):
Due  to  the  various  subgroups  in  the  room,  students  are  grouped  “flexibly”  in  heterogeneous  tables  (groups  of  6).  Teachers  will  target
specific  groups  based  on  understanding  determined  by  quesBoning  and  work  products.  During  the  acBvity,  teacher  will  circulate  and
monitor  student  progress  through  use  of  graphic  organizers  and  sentence  starters.  Students  will  be  moBvated  by  the  “like”  stamp.  Groups
have  been  determined  by  performance  on  DRP  as  well  as  reading  preference/choice.

Do  Now:
What  was  the  most  challenging  part  about  creaBng  your  own  quesBons?

Mini  Lesson:
Review–  In  groups,  the  students  will  be  asked  to  idenBfy  with  DOK  level  the  student  created  quesBons  fall  under.  We  will  quickly  discuss  the

Group  work:
Students  will  work  in  groups  to  read  closely  using  BHH,  Signposts,  and  DOK  QuesBoning.  Ms.  Dresner  will  work  with  Group  1  and  3,  while
Ms.  Ferrato  circulates  among  tables  4  and  5.  Students  will  be  encouraged  to  record  their  thoughts  and  feelings  as  well  as  create  any
quesBons  they  created

Share/Summary/Assessment:
With  the  last  5  minutes,  students  will  share  the  quesBons  from  today.
