1. GENERAL

1.1. Scope
This Construction Procedure covers general requirements for the foundation and anchor
bolt setting work.
This Construction Procedure shall be applied to the foundation of equipment, steel
structure, pipe rack, pipe support, sleeper and building.

1.2. References
1.2.1. Related Specification
The following specifications and procedures prescribe items of related work and
shall be used as part of this procedure.

1.3. Terminology
In this specification, the following words and terms shall have the meanings hereby
assigned to them, unless noted otherwise.
1.3.1. COMPANY
Refers to PT. CALTEX PACIFIC INDONESIA, as the ultimate user and owner,
the authorized representative of COMPANY or COMPANY third party
inspection.
1.3.2. CONTRACTOR
Refers to company selected by COMPANY, which may be responsible for the
detailed engineering design, material and equipment procurement, and
construction as specified in Contract, Scope of Work, or Work Order.
1.3.3. Vendor
Refers to the company selected by COMPANY or CONTRACTOR, which is
responsible for the purchase agreement or purchase order of the goods/services
specified in this specification
Note:
?? For EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project purposes:
The terminology shall have the meanings as above.
?? For “ Direct Procurement” by COMPANY purposes:
Vendor shall also be responsible as CONTRACTOR.

1.4. Conflicting Requirements


1.4.1. In case of conflict between this Specification and its associated Specifications
and the above Codes and Standards, the Vendor shall bring the matter to the

COMPANY’s attention for resolution and approval in writing. However, the


most stringent requirement shall apply.
1.4.2. Should conflicts exist between this specification and other documents, the
following order of precedence shall govern:

2. FOUNDATION WORKS EXECUTION


Refer to the Attachment-1 Foundation Work Flow Diagram.

3. REQUIREMENT FOR FOUNDATION WORKS


3.1. Soil bearing of foundation in general shall be well compacted to prevent depression of the
foundation. The degree of compaction as per SP-CI-CI-001 Specification for Earthwork.
3.2. In case humus, clay, or other harmful soil and sand exists at the bottom of excavation, they
shall be completely replaced with good soil or gravel.
3.3. Tolerance of foundation shall according to the table shown below:

4. ANCHOR BOLT SETTING

4.1. Anchor Bolt With Template


4.1.1. When setting the anchor bolts with templates, supports shall be provided at ?
0.08 inch (2 mm) to avoid any movement of the anchor bolt and templates at the
time of concrete placing.
4.1.2. Support frame for setting shall not be fixed on the reinforcement bars or form.
4.1.3. Tolerance of template setting shall be as follow:

4.2. Anchor Bolt With Gauge Plate


4.2.1. Gauge plate shall be used for direct anchor bolt setting for steel structure, etc.
when template are not required.
4.2.2. Gauge plate shall be firmly fixed on the form.
4.2.3. Tolerance for gauge plate setting shall be as follows:

4.3. Anchor Bolt With Anchor Box


Anchor boxes shall be provided for anchor bolt, when neither template nor gauge plate is
issued.
4.3.1. Size and depth of anchor box shall refer to the construction drawings and
tolerance of anchor box setting shall be as follows.

4.3.2. If pockets are to be used, its should be tapered from top to bottom with large on
bottom. Anchor bolt shall be set after the inside of anchor box is cleaned and
drained.
4.3.3. Filling materials for the anchor box shall be concrete or mortar (cement 1 : sand
3, by volume) or cementinuous non-shrinkage grout.
4.3.4. Concrete or mortar filler shall be used for miscellaneous equipment such as
ladder, stairs, electrical support, structural support with low load, etc.
4.3.5. Cementinuous non-shrinkage grout shall be used for tower, pressure vessel,
drum, static equipment, rotating equipment, etc. The non-shrinking grout shall be
cement based, pre-measured, pre-packaged material supplied by the manufacturer
with the exception of water, equivalent to Sika products or Fosroc or MBT or
approved equal. Metallic fillers shall not be acceptable as non-shrink or
expansive additive. Grout containing calcium chloride additive is not acceptable.

5. INSPECTION
Inspection for the foundation and anchor bolt setting work shall be performed for the following
items.

All tolerance shall be in accordance with Section 3 above or otherwise if stated in the
construction drawing and the inspection format shall be as per Attacment-2.

5.2. Anchor bolt setting


5.2.1. In case template is used:

shall be as per Attachment-3.

5.3. Inspection For Mortar Grouting Work


Surface condition shall be inspected as per PP-QC-GG-002 and PP-QC-GG-004, and
inspection format shall be as per Attachment-6.
Material used and application of material shall conform to the manufacture standard and
specification no. SP-CI-CC-001 Concrete Works.
