farm of her maternal grandparents, there she, learned to swim in a little river near the river
Chicamocha. His first house was located on a hill of a straightforward neighborhood, always
windy so there was noise all the time. Her mother feared for her safety and decided to sell
and buy a ground in which the house was built and where her parents currently live. She
started and finished her high school in the nationalized school Juan José Rondon, it is a
mixed, public school, she basically grew and educated there forging friendships that prevail
until today. Her childhood is summed up, in a word: - happiness.

Education
She began and finished her bachelor's degree in the nationalized school Juan José Rondon.
She is a civil engineer specialized in water resources. She, currently works in areas of design
of hydraulic networks, sanitary and hydrologic modeling. She is a responsible and honest
professional, she is efficient with the work she is involved, she develops with intelligence
and speed in the face of problems based on a framework of ethical principles. She considers
that teamwork and a favorable environment are fundamental factors for the development of
the work activity. She is aware of the social role she has as a professional so she works for
the common good and the care of the environment. Her undergraduate work was to develop
a "quantitative matrix of trenchless (open Ditch) technology selection for sewer construction
processes in Colombia."

Second component:
Other jobs and employment
Before she finished the school and every time she was on University´s vacations she helped
her father to manage a materials cellar. It was in the house current where her parents are
living now, that is in Soata, Boyacá. If work periods were constant, she had two more
experience´s years. Her mother also helped occasionally, especially when Ingry was
studying. The material kept here is sand, gravel and masonry. Traditional materials of
building. Because that family business it´s informal job only that she has had.

¿Why is this person important?

She is important for us because as many students from the “Escuela Colombiana de
Ingeniería” she does not come from the capital city, she comes from a humble family and of
principles. She has surpassed herself and has excelled professionally. She is worthy of
admiration for her ethical principles. Because of her thesis, she is highlighted for her
contribution to the study of the most important hydrological basin in the country, the
Magdalena River. As mentioned previously she is civil engineer, specialist in hydrology and
hydraulics. Her field of action covers from hydrological analysis based on non-conventional
methods to the preparation of budgets and drilling through by techniques microtunel.

One important thing the person has done

She has worked on major projects at national and international level, for example as
interceptor of Rio Medellín, director of the parent networks of Bogota, general manager of
IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) Costa Rica, CFO of Hidroituango, among others.
She is hydraulic designer. Projects that have really relevant social impacts because they fulfill
the basic needs of the community and at the same time protect them from natural disasters. In
Hidroituango for example, she was responsible for estimating the flow of excess landfill. She
discovered that the initial estimates of the volume of water that could be evacuated by the
landfill vary considerably with respect to recent modeling. It is depending on the integrity of
the structure that it, evacuates quickly the excess flow and it is diminished the hydrostatic
pressure acting on the walls of the dam. On time it decreases the risk of overflow, in the case
of overflow with the estimation of the volume stored it is possible to determine the time that
the authorities have to set up different plans of evacuation of populations at risk of being
wiped out by a flood.
