1. This assignment contains question that is set in English.

2. Answer in English.

3. Learners are to submit assignment only in MsWord(.docx) format unless specified

otherwise. Please refrain from converting text / phrases into picture format such as .gif /
.jpeg / print screen / etc.

4. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the myVLE for
preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12
point Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing.

5. Your assignment should be between 3000 to 5000 words excluding references. The number
of words should be shown at the end of your assignment. Do not copy the assignment
question and instructions to your answer.

You MUST submit a softcopy of your assignment online through myVLE and a hardcopy to
your facilitator.

 Online student:

You MUST submit a softcopy of your assignment via myVLE and another softcopy to the
facilitator via e-mail.

7. You can submit your assignment ONCE only in a SINGLE file.

8. Your assignment must be submitted between 27th July 2018 until 29th July 2018.
Submission after 29th July 2018 will NOT be accepted.

9. Your assignment should be prepared individually. You should not copy another person’s
assignment. You should also not plagiarise another person’s work as your own.

10. Please ensure that you keep the RECEIPT issued upon submisson of your assignment as
proof of submission. Your assignment is considered as NOT submitted if you fail to produce
the submission receipt in any dispute arises concerning assignment submission.

EVALUATION
This assignment accounts for 60% of the total marks for the course.

You would be given feedback on the assignment before the Final Semester Examination
commences.

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of this assignment is to enable learners to discuss Foreign Direct Investment
(FDI) of international organization. The ability to apply the knowledge of FDI will aid learners
to understand the concepts and importance of FDI to home and host countries.

TASK:

1. Write a literature review on FDI.

2. Select TWO organizations (from two different countries) that are involved in FDI in
Malaysia. Briefly discuss the background of these organizations. Critically discuss how FDI
improve or influence Organization 1’s operation in Malaysia and how FDI improve or
influence Organization 2’s operation in its country of origin. You should justify your
point(s) with supporting statistics or evidence. You may include your personal view or
opinion in the write-up.

3. Select ONE domestic organization that is not involved in FDI and assume that you are the
manager of this organization. Prepare a proposal to expand your organization’s operation
to international market. Your proposal should include discussion on background of your
organization, selection of country/countries to invest in, selection of entry mode, and
development of products of your organization.

Assignment Format:
a. Use double space and 12-point of Times New Roman font.
b. The assignment should contain about 3000 – 5000 words (15 – 20 pages).
c. Provide reference using the American Psychological Association (APA) format.
d. References should be latest (year 2011 onwards).

hardcopy to your facilitator.
