Middle Grammar Crafts Syllabus

TOG Year One 2018-2019

Teachers: Jenny Veleke and Sharon Deegan

Overview:
This year the students will be studying art related to ancient history. We will make masks,
games, and dabble in sculpting and painting. We are looking forward to studying the cultures of
these ancient people groups as we explore their art and recreate things from their time period. A
schedule of the projects we will create is included in this syllabus.

Supplies:
Same as for Middle Grammar Science, with the addition of
Glue bottle
Glue stick
Scissors
Sketchbook
Also, throughout the year, please consider donating newspapers and plastic or styrofoam egg
cartons. We will use these materials several times throughout the year, so your contributions
are appreciated.

Important Notes:
***We will be using paper mache and salt dough several times during the year. If your child has
a contact allergy to flour, please let us know so that we can provide allergy free materials for
those lessons.

Many of these projects were planned with the End of Unit celebration in mind. We plan to have
the students display their work at the EOU and/or to create items to add to their costumes. We
will send out an email each Thursday to share what we are working on and any homework that
may be required.

history!
