Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
Using this SRT, I will have access to assessment feedback which I can use to differentiate the lesson and
content delivery. The Quizlet offers many different options of how to study the terms and examples, including
testing, matching, playing games, using flash cards, etc. Students of every level of understanding can choose
the option that works best for their learning style, and even branch out to other forms of learning.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Before the SRT activity, we will address what resources we can use to create goods and services in our
country and all over the world. We will discuss that these are productive resources, which include natural
resources, capital resources, human resources, and entrepreneurship. Next, we will watch the video from
Discovery Education to learn more about these productive resources.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):

Student Response and Assessment Tools
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☒ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

After watching the video, we will pull up the Quizlet that I’ve created for the students. As a class, we will go
over the flashcards as a sort of fun, engaging assessment. Students will call out what they think is on the
other side of the flashcards. After a little practice with the flashcards, we will play the Gravity game as a class.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☒ Multiple choice ☒ Multiple select ☒ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☒ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):
N/A
Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
Yes, because giving the students immediate feedback gives them the opportunity to correct their answer and
ask questions about what they may not understand about that question or answer. It also gives the teacher
immediate feedback on if the students a understanding the content and which students may be falling
behind.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the SRT activity, I will ask the students to get out their own devices and open the Quizlet that I’ve
created for them. I will give them about 15 minutes to play on the Quizlet, using whichever option they
choose to study the terms and examples given. After the 15 minutes is complete, I will ask them to silently
take the test that their Quizlet creates for them. Once their test is completed and graded, the students will
send me their test results. This will conclude the lesson.
How will the data be used?
I will review the tests that the students sent me and use the assessment to measure my students’
understanding of the content. I can use this information to decide if we can move on from the lesson or if we
need to continue to review. I can also use this information to differentiate instruction by finding if there are
certain individuals who need further review and if there are students who are ready to have an extension of
the activity.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
I’m hoping that by using Quizlet, I will be able to reach every type of learner. The great thing is that the
program creates the different ways of learning, so it’s not extra work for me and the students can choose
which option they use. It also helps save me time on assessment since the Quizlet will distribute tests and
grade them for me. I am hopeful that the activity will result in greater comprehension results.

Student Response and Assessment Tools
I feel like these activities impact student learning by engaging the students individually and by introducing
new ways of learning content that students may not be familiar with. Students could use their prior
knowledge of creating an e-book with PowerPoint and create an e-book of examples and definitions.
