FSR means "Fuel Stroke Reference" and is related to fuel control valve stroke (GCV on gas fuel, LCV
on liquid fuel). Higher FSR means higher output, but it is not a linear relationship and is not the only
parameter affecting output. Ambient pressure, temperature and relative humidity and heating value
of the fuel also impact what the output will be for a fixed FSR value. While it is theroetically possible
to calculate fuel flow and then generation using FSR and all the other pertinent parameters, it isn't
easy. FSR is calculated in the control based on demand is very useful for GE's control system to use
to position the fuel control valve. Note, FSR is used on Mark IV, V, VI and VIe GE controls. It is the
digital control replacement for VCE which was used on Mark I and Mark II analog controls.

So, it is much easier to determine your generation by the electrical power instruments than by FSR,
and much easier to determine fuel flow by flow measurement instrumentation.

FSR or Fuel stroke reference is actually related to the amount of Fuel that is ported in to match the
gas turbine load/speed requirements.

There are six types of FSR via. Startup, Shutdown. Speed, Temperature. Manual and Acceleration.
The lowest of the FSR goes for controlling.

Each of them is active and controlling at a certain time during the Startup, Shutdown and Normal
operation. These FSR values are directly affected by ambient temperatures. A lower ambient
temperature means a higher value of air flow and a higher fuel flow (FSR) and hence higher loading.

For liquid fuels - the flow divider speeds are measured in percentage terms as FQL1 which multiplied
by a control constant give FQLM1 value (Fuel flow to the turbine). As the load of the turbine is
increased, the fuel requirement increases. Here FQL1 is used for feedback, which is compared and a
signal FQROUT (New FSR value) is generated which is directed to liquid fuel bypass valve which
closes to port more fuel to the turbine and hence the load increases.

For gas fuel - The LVDT's measure the position of the GCV and the value is sent to the control
system. As the load set point has been increased, the called for FSR value changes. A new value
FSGOUT (New FSR) is generated which opens the GCV to put more fuel to the turbine.

FSR is Fuel Stroke Ratio. It's Maintains The fuel stroke ratio according to speed control loop of
gasturbine. While Control the rated speed of it. It's depends upon the output of gas turbine MW.
