III. Procedure
A. Preparation
a. Check the attendance.
b. Let them read a sample of a journal entry.
c. After reading, ask them the following questions as review of the different
elements of stories that were already discussed.
1. What is the setting of the journal entry?
2. Who are the characters?
3. What is the conflict in the story?
d. Relate their answers to the next element of genre to be discussed which is
plot parts.
B. Presentation
a. Before watching the video, inform them that they must watch out for the five
parts of plot and how they differ.
b. Discuss the parts of the plot.

C. Activity
a. Distribute the activity sheet.
b. Explain each of the questions in the activity sheet.
c. Remind them that the activity is a draft for their product—a journal entry.

D. Generalization
a. Let the class enumerate the plot parts.

E. Product
a. Give further instructions and tips on how to write their journal entry.
b. Have them base their journal entry from their draft.
c. Have some students read their product in front of the class.

III. Procedure
A. Preparation
a. Check the attendance.
b. Before letting them read the journal entry, inform them that they have to
answer the concept map by pair as review of the elements of stories that
were already discussed.
c. Inform them as well that the output for the lesson is a journal entry.
d. After the allotted time, let them discuss their concept map. Their discussion
should focus on the following elements of stories
1. setting
2. characters
3. conflict
e. Relate their answers to the next element of genre to be discussed which is
plot parts.
B. Presentation
a. Before watching the video, inform them that they must watch out for the five
parts of plot and how they differ.
b. Discuss the parts of the plot.

C. Activity
a. Let them identify the plot parts of the sample journal entry.
b. Distribute Activity Sheet 1: Identifying the Plot Parts.
c. Explain each of the questions/parts in the activity sheet.
d. After the allotted time for the activity, let some present their answers to the
class.
e. Distribute Activity Sheet 2: Plotting my Story.
f. Explain each of the parts of the activity sheet.
g. Remind them that the activity will be the draft for their product—a journal
entry.

D. Generalization
a. Through a quiz, let them identify the plot parts described.
E. Product
a. Give further instructions and tips on how to write their journal entry.
b. Have them base their journal entry from their draft.
c. Have some students read their product in front of the class during the date
the product is due.
