MOBILE DATA COLLECTION PROGRAM

—Gulfport was introduced to Survey123 in the Alpha stage

—We needed a replacement for Pronto Forms to allow for connecting form data to
feature classes in our Enterprise Geodatabase

—The Water Team at Gulfport Energy was looking for a way to perform easy
inspections associated with their daily workflows. But they also wanted to easily
access the captured data and perform further analysis.

—A short time ago at a PUG Plenary not so far away….

—Sump Pump inspections were able to save

the water team close to $2,000,000/year

—Since this presentation, we have been able to implement more forms and train
field personnel on the process to generate their own forms

—We have improved the usability of the forms based on experiences with the sump
inspection

—Beginning a redesign of the sump inspection to promote usability and take

advantages of newer features in Survey123
MOBILE DATA COLLECTION PROGRAM

- Gulfport has implemented a hybrid

system to support internal and external
usage (Portal for internal usage and
Geospatial
AGOL for external usage Technology
- Field Supervisors are able to add and
remove contractors as necessary
improving response time and ownership

workspaces and GeoEvent Server Employee
configuration to support notifications and

HOW DID WE ACHIEVE OUR SOLUTION

EVALUATE OUR OPTIONS AND SELECT THE

BEST ONE

— ArcGIS reports using MS Word Templates

– COTS solution
– MS Word acts like a mail merge template for report

— FME Workbench writing to PDF

– Custom solution
– Uses existing licenses and infrastructure
– Expand FME expertise to leverage ESRI web services

— We chose FME since it allows us to compare the current

reading to the previous reading, while the ArcGIS reports
only display data for the current form.
