(NSE) PROGRAM The Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) Program is an eight-level certification
program designed for technical professionals interested in independent
validation of their network security skills and experience. The program includes
a wide range of self-paced and instructor-led courses, and experiential exercises
designed to develop mastery of complex network security concepts.
CONTACTS
The NSE Program is an important part of the FortiPartner Program (FPP),
allowing partners to validate network security skills and experience, leverage
Fortinet’s full range of network security products, help accelerate sales, and offer
new services. Online portions of the program are offered free to partners. Fees
for proctored exams are outlined in this document.

Step Level Objective

NSE 1 Develop a foundational understanding of the ever-increasing threat landscape and of NSE Certifications

Valid NSE 7 certification renews NSE 4 and
NSE 5 certifications
Obtaining NSE 7 certification renews a valid, previously obtained NSE 4 and / or
NSE 5 certification. Obtaining NSE 7 certification will not validate expired certificates.
The new expiration date of the NSE 4 and / or NSE 5 certification will be the same
as the NSE 7 certification.

NSE 8 certification renews all existing

validates both valid and expired lower-level certifications previously held by the

Live, remote, instructor-led training delivered over the Internet. Candidates attend
sessions using an online classroom application, such as GoToTraining. The instructor
will send candidates the GoToTraining invitation a few hours before the class start
time. After candidates enroll in virtual instructor-led training, they can access the
corresponding student guide.
Two course are not available as online training: FortiWi-Fi and FortiDDos. These
courses are available only as classroom training. Partners who want to attend
classroom training should contact their regional training coordinator for free
enrollment assistance.
NSE 4 – 8
__Candidates take NSE 4 – 7 and NSE 8 written exams at a Pearson VUE
Authorized Test Center  . The NSE 8 practical exam can be taken either
remotely, or in person at one of Fortinet’s NSE 8 test centers. There are
thousands of exam centers worldwide.
__Pearson VUE candidates receive a pass or fail email notification.
__If a candidate passes the course, the certificate is processed and posted to the
candidate’s profile five business days after they receive the email notification.

__Candidates must wait 15 days between exam attempts.
