Erasmus Policy Statement (Overall Strategy)

Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University aims to improve the quality of our education
and strengthen our relationships with the rest of the world in the field of art,
design, science and technological progresses. We intent to realize this aim by
encouraging transnational cooperation between the Higher Education
Institutions fostering the European mobility of student and teaching staff and
contributing to improved transparency and academic recognition of
qualifications and studies under the frame of EU Bologna Declarations. As we
predicted, we have increased the number of the partner institutions, number of
inter-institutional projects, program in EU and other countries. Under this
framework we realized the participation of several programs and projects
through the Student Mobility, Teaching Staff Mobility and Intensive Programs.
One of our prior criteria while we choose our partners is recognition of
qualification and equivalence of academic program and aims. Academic Units are
encouraged to establish new partnerships, which will bring long-term benefits to
each institution. The University’s Internationalisation Strategy and its Learning
and Teaching Strategy aim to promote longer-term and sustainable networks
and partnerships with universities and other organisations in research, teaching
and enterprise for mutual benefit.
The key objective is to increase the mobility of outgoing students, while
continuing to maintain the number of incoming students. The outgoing staff
mobility programme has been improved and efforts will continue to be made to
maximise the opportunities available within funding limitations.

We aim to extend the inter-institutional cooperation and exchange activities in

all departments and for all cycles. Our students, teaching and administrative
staffs develop their skills and perspective under the exchange activities. Such an
experience will help students greatly increase their employability as well as
provide insights.
