THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY APPARATUS –SOLIDS
(TWO SLAB GUARDED HOT PLATE METHOD)
MODEL: HT24

OBJECTIVE:
Determination of Thermal Conductivity of poor conducting material (Asbestos)

DESCRIPTION:
The apparatus consists of a main control heater and a ring guard heater, with the test
specimen sandwiched in between. Cooling plates are provided on either side of the
specimen.
The Test Section assembly consisting of the asbestos specimen, heaters are sandwiched
between specimens. Thermocouples are provided to measure heater & specimen
temperatures. Digital Voltmeter and Ammeter are provided to measure the heat input. The
whole assembly is enclosed in an insulating layer of mineral wool to prevent radiation
and convection losses to the maximum extent possible.
The whole system is a single unit, consists of a metallic, powder coated control panel
with m s square tube table, which gives esthetic finish. The apparatus provided with
digital instrumentation to get accurate readouts and results.
