Nijika raced towards the dark-blue hair when she noticed him slowing his A.T.
Her breath was ragged and her heartbeats was increasing. She knew Agito had done it again. Kaito was
very strict about curfew so when Agito said he went to look for his A.T. parts, Kaito had told him to come
back before nine o’clock. Agito rarely opposed the curfew…. unless there was other things that caught
his attention.
Agito didn’t finished his sentence when he was hit with a whip on his left shoulder blade.
Nijika watched with fear as Kaito continued to whip the little boy, whose age was not much different
with her.
“Agito, what time had I told you to come back?” His sweet voice unmatched his violent actions.
Whip!
After a few beatings Nijika could not hold herself and she mustered her courage to stand up against
Kaito, even though she knew the consequences herself.
She stood up in between the older man and Agito, with her hands holding the whip, stopping Kaito from
whipping Agito.
Her actions infuriated Kaito further, and he cursed at them, spitting along the words ‘ungrateful
children’, as he pulled the whip, Nijika was taken aback and almost fell from the pull, but he finished
them with a final whipping, making Nijika fell onto the weakened Agito. Both of them whimpered from
the impact.
“You two come inside at once! Agito get back inside the cage!”
---
Many people thought that a cage was just a metaphor for strict discipline. But in reality, Agito was truly
locked inside the cage. What could be the reason?
It baffled Nijika too but she somehow felt that Kaito was too overprotective or obsessed in keeping the
boy safe.
She applied antiseptic onto the a cotton bud that she took from the medical kit provided by Kaito, (He
just threw the kit on the table without saying anything. She thought it was his way of showing he was
feeling a tinge of guilt for beating both of them)
