Transition: very good!!! Let’s colour a house!

DEVELOPMENT: Commented [A5]: This colouring part will surely take longer.
How can you use time more wisely?
Activity 1: (7 minutes) I can suggest two alternatives - you may think of other ideas,
anyway. I would recommend you provide them with piles of the
shapes in different colours, so that they take the ones they need to
Purpose: to recognize shapes and to revise colours. create their own house. After making their houses, they might be
asked about the shapes and colours they have used.
Another option would be providing them with a worksheet of an
already “built” house, and do some colour dictation, so that
students identify the shapes and the colours you mention.
Students will be sitting on their chairs; I will give them an extra copy to do the activity. I will give
students shapes to colour. I will say: you have to colour the triangle YELLOW.

The small (demonstrate small with gestures) square is BlUE

The big (demonstrate big with gestures) square is RED

The diamond is BLUE

The heart is ORANGE.

Transition: beautifull!! Now, we are going to build a house

Activity 2: (5 minutes)

Purpose: to round up the topic and the new vocabulary presented

Once students have coloured the shapes, I will say that they are going to put the parts together to
create a house. I will give them some sheets of papers to stick the shapes on it.
Transition: excellent work, nice pictures!! Now, it’s time to say goodbye. Let’s sing the goodbye song

CLOSURE: (3 minutes)

I will say goodbye, and tell students that we will see next class. We will sing the goodbye
song together:
