Overall Update Prayer for YOU

This month I got to introduce new people to
Costa Rica. Can you believe I’m the experienced
student now? I have now been in Costa Rica for
almost four months and I was excited last week to
feel like I really was coming home after a trip.
This month I have really been praying for my
upcoming move to Honduras. There is so much going
on there and I have no idea specifically what the
Lord wants me to do. I probably won’t know exactly
until I get there, but I have begun praying that He
would be preparing my heart now for the people I
will meet and work with in La Ceiba. I’m also
getting really excited about being there and getting
to settle in and make that my new home.
At the same time, I don’t want to wish away my
time here. I am enjoying Costa Rica so much. It is a
beautiful country and I have met so many wonderful
people. I’m getting to know my host family so much
more now that I can speak more Spanish. And I’m
continuing to make new Tico friends. I even got to
go to a student-led Bible study with some university
students! It was a great experience and they were
so patient with us.
Language
This month I led my first Bible study in Spanish!
Just give yourself a second to think through concepts
about the Lord’s glory and goodness, the idea of
being motivated out of love for His name, how we
should live to glorify Him, and what glory really
means. Now turn to someone in your house and try
to describe your thoughts using a four year olds
vocabulary. Welcome to my life!
But I did it! And I have to admit I think it went
pretty well. My friend Joe helped me while I was in
Panama to renew my visa. There are just whole
concepts that I don’t know how to translate yet…
like the idea of being shortchanged. I don’t think
there is a verb “to shortchange” in Spanish. So we
improvise.
All that to say I was excited to get to put some of
my Spanish to use to talk about the Gospel!
This month I am trying to pray for all of my
supporters, that means you! I stole an idea from a
friend to put all your names in a container and then
pray for a couple every day and move them to the
other container until I’ve prayed for everyone. So
I’m doing it! If you and your family have any prayer
needs, please let me know!
Current Prayer Needs
 Continued Spanish learning. I am currently a little
frustrated with the slow pace of my class. So
please pay for patience and diligence to study hard
on my own.
 Please join me in praying that the Lord will be
preparing my heart for whatever He has
specifically prepared for me to do in Honduras.
Pray for peace for me in the waiting and that the
Lord will be making my heart ready.
 Pray for continual good time in the Word as I start
the Tim Keller “Galatians” Bible study with some
friends here.
 Keep praying for opportunities for me to talk about
the Lord and His great love for us with those who
don’t know Him.
