1. Objective
Many a times Managers want to appreciate the team & subordinates on certain specific
achievements but does not have the time to write an appreciation note. We bring here a handy
tool with beautiful re-designed notes to help managers quickly appreciate a good work by his
subordinate.
The philosophy behind the launch of the ‘Quick Appreciation’ Policy is to create a positive
environment that fosters improved performance.
2. Benefits
Quick Appreciation Policy is in the form of E-appreciation notes, a handy tool for
managers to give a quick feedback and motivate employees for their day to day extra
efforts.
It is a simple and convenient, easy to use tool for busy managers to promptly recognize
and reinforce a good performance.
A good performer will not have to wait to hear how they are doing.
Employees want immediate feedback, and they want to be recognized for a job well done. ‘Quick
Appreciation’ responds to this need. Quick and prompt recognition leads to happy, motivated, and
engaged employees, and that adds to the bottom line – both in employee retention and revenue.
A job well appreciated, creates a benchmark for others. Thus, it helps in inculcating
organizational values in people.
4. Quick Appreciation
‘QA’ though E-Appreciation Notes is a tool for managers to appreciate their subordinates. It has
to be given as close to the event as possible.
It can be given for any appreciable act which is accepted as an act of reward among others.

6. Process
The manager has to use his own judgment and understanding to evaluate a performance. He can
Choose an award for his team under any of the following three categories.
1. Redeemable cards
2. Scratch Cards
3. Token of appreciation (Cards)
Based on the degree of achievement, he will select a category for the individual / team.
That means, if the achievement has added a high degree of value in team’s goal achievement
and is highly appreciable, then, the manager can chose the individual / team for Redeemable
Cards. Similarly the second level of awards is the Scratch cards. The third level of awards is the
Token of appreciation which will be given on any small appreciable act.
In case of Scratch cards and Redeemable cards, managers shall recommend their direct team
member. These recommendations can only be made through an online nomination form available
on the Applause application. This shall need approval from Director or above.
In case of ‘Token of Appreciation’, the manager can promptly award the person without any
process of recommendation.
Any of these items will be of amount ranging between INR 300 to INR 500.
Usually, the contributions recognized will have been completed within a period of 4 weeks or less.
Recognition should be made within 3 days, but not later than 30 days after completion of the
accomplishment.
7. Approval
The manager at E5 level or above is not required to take an approval for Token of Appreciation.
The manager at E5 level or above is required to take an approval of L2 (Director or above) for
awarding an individual / team with Scratch Cards & Redeemable Cards.
8. Quota
A Director has following quota of awards in each category for a period of one month.

1. Redeemable cards – Director can approve not more than 2 Redeemable cards in a
month.
2. Scratch Cards – Director can approve not more than 4 scratch cards in a month.
3. Token of appreciation (Cards) – No quota. A manager can give this token of appreciation
to his team / team members in a meeting room or get-together event at his discretion.
9. Award
On receiving the approval, the Level 1 Manager will take the cards from BU HR and award the
individual achiever or the team achiever in front of others in the team in a meeting or a get-
together event.
