3.0 DESIGN
3.2.1 The Chemical Injection packages are used in this Project includes corrosion
inhibitor, wax inhibitor, asphaltene inhibitor, scale inhibitor and demulsifier
injection package.
3.2.4 Relief valves for mounting on skid mounted package piping shall be furnished.
3.2.5 The capacity shall follow as closely possible as straight line relationship with
stroke length.
3.2.6 Guided, controlled travel, ball type check valves at discharge lines shall be
provided, valves shall have renewable seats.
3.2.8 The pump and driver shall be aligned properly and shall be free of critical
vibration and excessive noise.
3.2.9 Multiple head pumps are acceptable. One pump or pump head per injection
point is mandatory.
3.2.10 Each variable pump shall be equipped with a safety valve to limit discharge
pressure to the required pressure value. The discharge line shall be looped
back to the storage tank.
A pressure gauge shall be installed on each outlet for enabling regulation of
pressure in the piping.
3.2.11 Under no circumstances shall parallel injection over several points be allowed
unless instruments are provided to control the injection rate at each point.
3.2.12 For chemicals injected a minimum of one complete spare pump shall be
provided.
3.2.13 The pumps shall be driven by electric motors and shall be equipped with suction
CLIENT: CONSULTANT:
Tanks shall be made of materials, which resist corrosion from the stored
product. Protection against atmospheric corrosion shall be assured by
application of the paint.Tank shall be equipped with an individual system for
filling enabling:
a. Filling from product delivered in container (Bulk).
b. Filling from product delivered in drums.
Storage tank completes with all nozzles, manhole, level gauge, level switch,
mixer and mixer mounting bracket, hinged lid, connections for pump suction
line, relief line return, over flow and drain connections.
3.4 Mixers
The tank mixer shall be a vertical type, securely supported independently from
the tank. The support shall be designed such that the mixer is easily removable.
The mixer design and materials shall be as specified on the chemical injection
package data sheets.
3.5 Drivers
3.6.1 The pipe size and pressure rating shall be in accordance with the maximum flow
rate and pressure encountered in the system.
3.6.2 Pulsation damper with isolation valve at discharge of pump should be provided.
3.6.3 Provision shall be made for piping expansion, contraction and vibration and
piping shall be supported so that the weight of the piping is not supported by the
pumps.
3.6.4 Particular care must be taken with the piping to provide minimum restriction for
equipment accessibility and minimize friction losses especially in pump suction.
3.6.5 The complete package with all piping system assembled shall be functionally
tested to ensure proper operation as required by this specification.
CLIENT: CONSULTANT:
4.1 General
4.1.2 Chemical injection pumps with electric motor drivers, stroke adjustment screw
assemblies, the related terminal boxes
4.1.8 Level gauges and level switches of the chemical storage tanks
4.1.9 Local control panel for locally mounted alarm and inter locks
4.2 Instruments/Control
4.2.1 A single control panel for pump control and monitoring for each package shall
be considered.
4.2.2 VENDOR shall provide an external relief valve downstream of each pump,
regardless if the pump has an integral hydraulic fluid relief valve.
4.2.3 A tank level gage for each tank, complete with isolating and with vent and drain
shall be supplied.
4.2.4 A pump calibration gage shall be installed in the pump suction piping, complete
with calibration tube and isolating and vent valve.
CLIENT: CONSULTANT:
4.3 Electrical
4.3.1 A local electrical panel for each package shall be provided on the skid. Only a
one 3-phase feeder (400/380 V, 4wire) shall be brought to the panel.
4.3.2 Other consumers such as control panel shall be fed from electric panel.
4.3.3 Electrical panel shall contain a main switch, back-up fuse protection, phase
control relays, contactors, motor starter, etc. ingress protection of the panel
should be at least IP56 & to comply with IPS-M-EL-142.
4.3.4 All interconnecting cable, cable glands, elec. Fittings, etc. shall be provided on
the skid.
4.3.5 On the skid enclosure of all electrical devices shall be electrically bonded and
connected to frame. Earthing stud shall be provided at two opposite side of
frame.
4.4 Skid
4.4.2 The skid shall be designed for mounting on a concrete foundation and come
complete with holes for anchor bolts.
4.4.3 The skid shall have, as a minimum four lifting lugs and be designed with
sufficient rigidity so when all components are mounted on the skid, the skid can
be lifted at the lift points without damaging or distorting any of the components.
