 UNDERSTANDING GOD’S WORD
The word of the Lord seems to misunderstood by many people for what it is and the power that it
contains, but I will share with you the little light that I attained from reading the word of the
Lord.
What we need to understand about the word of God is that it is the BASIS of LIFE, all life and
creation is centred upon the Word of the lord. Why is this so, at the beginning God spoke a word
of creation to the spirit which was hovering around the waters and it happened just as the Lord
spoke, why is this so? The answer will be that God’s word is alive and spiritual so much that
when you speak with reverence to it, God quickly hearkens to it to give an answer.
Now where am I going with this? >> The word of God is part of our lives and for us to grow
spiritually, physically and mentally we need it, why is this so, we all know that there is no seed
that can grow and germinate into a seedling without it having to be watered, because water is the
basic element needed for growth and without it, there is no life hence the seed dies due to
suffocation and dehydration.
One may ask themselves why I am comparing God’s Word to Water, this is simply because
God’s word is water, why water because it is that basic need of life just as God’s word. But now
as people we don’t value or honour The Word {water} because we haven’t recognised its
importance in our lives. But that might just change after reading this.
It has been written in the book of Joshua 1 verse 8 that,” This Book of the Law shall not depart
from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do
according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you
will have good success.” {ESV} This statement supports and confirms what I have just said
above, that the word of the Lord is part of our lives but we don’t honour it as people cause we
fail to see its significance.

 WHAT IS REQUIRED OF US?

Live according to God’s word, Meditate on it Day and Night and never let it Depart from your
Mouth. Why is it so? This is because we need to be watered for us to be alive and functional, and
to grow against our odds and become fruitful (prosperous) in our lives.
Just as a seed would rise up against the earth that buried it, into a wonderful tree against the
odds, you also as a person you should be ready to face all persecution, mockery and all kinds of
demoralisation from the world just for living according to God’s will but all this is just the earth
piled up on you and you’re yet to rise up into a wonderful and prosperous being just for living
according to God’s will.
