• Middle rectal arteries, also know as the middle hemorrhoidal arteries.

Origin

• Anterior trunk of the internal iliac artery.

Region

• In both the male and female the middle rectal artery is a branch of the anterior division of
the internal iliac artery, which often arises with the inferior vesical artery.

• It runs inward in the lateral ligaments of the rectum to supply the muscular tissue of the
lower rectum and anastomose with the superior and inferior rectal arteries.

Supply

• Lower rectum.
