Domestic Violence Court Sentencing

1. Domestic Violence Court: Participate in Domestic Violence Court with the requirement to
periodically return for post-sentence review hearings to assess compliance with the conditions
of the sentence
a. (First post-sentence review hearing is scheduled for the first available Domestic Violence
Court date after 30 days from sentencing or release from incarceration)

2. Domestic Violence Court Orientation: Completion Domestic Violence Court Orientation through
the CVIC Domestic Violence Court Project within two weeks of sentencing or release form
incarceration
a. (Orientation is held on Fridays anytime between 9:00 and 11:00am in the basement of
the Valley Community Health building - across the street from CVIC)

3. Domestic Violence Offender Program: complete an evaluation through (an approved domestic
violence program, New Choices or Turning Points) and follow through with all recommendations
made by the evaluator. Proof of an enrollment in a court-approved program shall be filed within
30 days from the date defendant is released from custody or date of judgment. Proof of
completion shall be filed before the end of probation. If defendant disagrees with the
treatment recommendations, then within 10 days after receiving the recommendations,
defendant may request a hearing before the court to assess the appropriateness of alternative
treatment programs

4. Maintain Employment: Work faithfully at a suitable employment or faithfully pursue a course


study or vocational training that will equip the Defendant for suitable employment

5. Suspended Fine: A fine in the amount of $500 is imposed but suspended contingent on the
successful completion of domestic violence court
