JOINT AFFIDAVIT OF DESISTANCE/RECANTATION

I, MARY GRACE J. ATWIL and SHERELIZA A. MEJORADA, of legal age

and a resident of Purok Buli, Visayan Village, Tagum City and Makabayan Village,
San Isidro, Tagum City, respectively, after having been sworn to in accordance with
law, hereby depose and state that:

That we are the private complainant in the criminal complaint for Robbery
with rape against ROMEO S. BASISTER, already filed with the Regional Trial Court,
Branch 1, Tagum City;

That after careful assessment of what had transpired on November 9, 2013,

in connection with this case, we are certain that the accused ROMEO S. BASISTER
was not the person who committed robbery with rape;

In view of that, we finally manifest that we now completely and absolutely

exonerate the accused from any criminal liability in connection with the
abovementioned criminal case and that we are no longer interested, and we hereby
desist, in prosecuting the said criminal case;

That we execute this Affidavit of Desistance/ Recantation so that the above-

mentioned criminal case be immediately dismissed and considered finally closed,
considering that the accused has been detained for more than two months now;
