HMI Lite - Alarm 4025 "Movementscreen not activ"

1 Introduction

The communication between CPU and panel runs independently of the used bus system always with the
lowest priority as only data for visualization are transmitted. Because of the direct keys in Manual
screens of HMI Lite it is important that communication errors are detected. Therefore HMI Lite checks
the life bit of the WinCC flexible area pointer “Coordination”.

2 Cause of the alarm

The alarm 4025 "Movementscreen not aktiv" is activated by HMI Lite as soon as entered supervision
time in DB_HMILITE_CONFIG.DBB46 is exceeded by the life bit. At the same time all manual functions
are deactivated because it is assumed that the communication between CPU and panel is faulty. By
switching screens and reselection of the Manual screens this safety lock can by cancelled.

3 Causes of faulty communication

3.1 Missing area pointer

In case that during selection of the Manual screen the alarm 4025 pops up immediately, the area
pointers in the WinCC flexible project should be checked. These pointers are usually automatically
deleted when the CPU is changed in the HW config. You can see the standard configuration of the
pointers in the screen shot below. The DB number has to be same as the number of
DB_HMILITE_DATA.

3.2 Active system failure

System failure at the PLC (SF LED on) are caused for instance by missing Profibus Slaves. However if a
system failure is active the communication to the panel can be slowed down. Therefore all system
failures should be removed before the Manual screens are used.
If system failures are unavoidable during commissioning you could – on your own responsibility –
increase temporarily the supervision time in DB_HMILITE_CONFIG.DBB46 to 4 seconds. However after
the complete commissioning of the machine the value must be reset to 2 sec.

3.3 Cabling failures

Wrong set up terminating resistors and defective cables can cause sporadic failures in communication.
Therefore please check all terminating resistors and cables.

3.4 NetPro Configuration

The required cycle time reservation for the panel is done in the NetPro Configuration. Please make sure
that in the NetPro Configuration the panel is assigned to the bus system and that the configuration is
loaded into the CPU.

3.5 Cycle time < approx. 10ms

The reserved cycle time in the CPU for communication to the panel is not a fixed value but a percentage
value of the total cycle time of the CPU. If fast and powerful PLC´s are used the total cycle time can be
very short which means that the communication part becomes short too. Cycle times of approx. or less
than 10ms can activate the supervision function in HMI Lite, even if there is no communication failure.
Depending of the used bus system there are two different ways to prevent the HMI Lite alarm.

3.5.1 Panel connected to PLC via Profibus/Ethernet

If the panel is connected via Profibus/Ethernet, the supervision function can be deactivated
completely. Instead the direct key function can be used. Therefore the panel must be projected
as “already projected station” in the HW Config and the used input byte in the
FC_HMILITE_MANUAL must be parameterized. Then the supervision time in
DB_HMILITE_CONFIG.DBB46 can be set to a very high value (for instance 10 min) which will
deactivate it.
If Touch panels are used additionally the function „Set direct key bit“ must be linked to invisible
pushbuttons that the panel can set the required input bit. The relation of the pushbuttons to the bit
can be seen in the documentation of the FC_HMILITE_MANUAL.

3.5.2 Panel connected to PLC via MPI

As the MPI bus does not support the direct key function, the cycle time must be increased by the
engineer. Therefore if required a specific block can be ordered from the Transline Support, which
directly influences the cycle time in the PLC operating system.
