Name, fame, status etc… is the signification of the 10th house. So, 10th
house, lord, planets in 10th house, planets aspecting 10th indicate name,
fame etc..
When strong lagna lord is connected with 10th house/lord native achieves fame on account of his own
efforts.

When strong Sun/9th lord is connected with 10th fame, power, position is achieved through father, luck

Strength of Sun, Moon, lagna, 10th house, 11th house, Atmakaraka, karakamsha and 2nd & 10th from
karakamsha indicate great fame. All of the above from navamsha as well as natal chart. The stronger they
are, the more the fame. Even if few are exceptionally strong, all others need not be. And even if all are
moderately strong, fame would be there. The extent of fame would be determined from a combined
interpretation of all.

Fame is of different kinds and different combinations would indicate different type of fame. For an actor,
it is different, for a politician different.

What planetary combinations denote permanent foreign

settlement?
I've seen most of people uses to ask if he or she have any foreign travel in horoscopes. Nowadays
foreign settlements is considered as success and achievement. But in our Vedic text settlement in
foreign land is not considered so good. In Ramayana Shri Rama said, 'हह हहहहहहह ! हहह ह
हहहहहहहह हहहह हहहहह ह हहहहहह, हहहह हहहहहहहहहहह हहहहहहहहह हहह
हहहहहह' । Hey Lakshman! The Lanka made up with gold isn't giving me pleasure/happiness.
Only Mother and Motherlandare auspicious and both are always precious than heaven. This
saying was necessary, therefore I wrote it. Although, it has nothing to do with astrology and foreign
settlements. Keep reading, I'll clear the same below. For now, only keep in mind, foreign settlements
aren't good things in itself. (These are my own views and experience, so may not fit everywhere.
Although, it's according to rules only)

In a Vedic Astrology there are many combinations of foreign travelling. With the help of Astrology,
we'll try to know which planets, houses and signs are responsible for foreign travel.

Houses - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 12th houses are the houses of foreign
travel.

As I mentioned before, foreign settlements aren't auspicious in itself, because it separates you from many
things, relationships and etc. Somehow, loss/12th house is connected with foreign settlements. "What he
achieved in foreign land doesn't matter, what he lost in mother land does matter a lot".

12th house[1] is the house of loss, therefore 12th house have a major role in foreign settlements.

1st house is yourself, if it is connected to 9th and 12th lord represents foreign journeys. If Lagna lord is
in Movable sign and far away from ascendant, it is good signal for going abroad.

2nd house is your family, malefic like Saturn, Rahu, Ketu placed here can separate one from his family.
So, malefic influence in 2nd house or 2nd house having connections with 12th house increases chances to
travel foreign land.

4th house is the house of mother and motherland, therefore 10th house should be consider as father
and "Foreign Lands". Because it's opposite of 4th house (motherland). Now, it is confirmed that 10th
house is the house of foreign lands and it also represents profession. So, native can travel foreign lands for
his profession.

Point to be noted here is, 4th house doesn't indicate foreign land, 10th house does. So, whenever 4th
house or it's lord is weak, it increases the chances to separate native from motherland. And if 10th house
or lord is weak, it increases the possibility of not getting settlement in foreign land.

3rd house is the 12th house from 4th house (motherland). Therefore it is also considered as short
journeys. In a simple, 3rd house is the loss/12th of 4th house (motherland). So, it can take you away from
motherland. 3rd house or it's lord connected with 7th, 9th and 12th houses indicates trips & foreign tours.

7th house is totally opposite to ascendant (you). So, 7th house represents long distance and long
travelling.

9th house represents educational, religious and long journey. So, 9th house having connections with any
of the houses above indicates that native will travel aboard for getting education or religious needs.

How these rules does works?

 If the above mentioned houses are connected to each other like 4th lord (home) and 12th lord
(foreign house) with 10th lord (career, profession) it means the native will travel foreign for
career and permanent settlement is possible on foreign land.
 If 4th house lord is placed in 12th house and 12th house lord is in the 4th house, then the native
will settle abroad. This is a exchange connection between 4th & 12th houses (motherland &
foreign).

  If 5th, 9th and 12th house are connected to each other, then native will go abroad for attending
seminars, lectures or educational purposes.
 If 1st, 7th and 12th house is connected to each other, then native will go abroad for business
deal. This combination also indicates native can go abroad after marriage.
 Ascendant placed in 12th.
 10th, Ascendant lord placed in 12th and malefic influence presence in 2nd or 4th house. Check

Keep in mind, malefic/weak influence in 2nd and 4th house is needed. If there is benefics, then native will
enjoy the pleasure of motherland or returns back to his motherland.

Planets- Every planets can take one to foreign lands according to their placement in individual chart.
Malefic planets like Saturn, Rahu has main role in it. Jupiter being a Aakash Tatva, is responsible for
travel by airplane. It is also the Karka of 9th and 12th houses.

1. Sun is the King of the Planet and it indicates the long governmental journey or health related
journey in the east direction.
 2. Moon indicates short journeys towards north-west direction repeatedly. Moon and 8th house
also represents journeys through water/ship.
3. Mars indicates a medium-range journey in the south direction.
4. Mercury is a factor in the journeys of education, jobs, knowledge, science, trade etc.
5. Jupiter indicates journey through airplane in north-east direction. He is the factor for
Religious journeys, educational journey, conference, etc.
6. Venus indicates a short or medium distance journey in the south-eastern direction. Venus is
the factor for Tourism, picnic, entertaining, luxurious and especially honeymoon.
7. Saturn is the factor of long distance travel in the west direction. Due to airy elements it is also
responsible for journeys through airplanes.
8. Rahu & Ketu, always tries to separate native from his homelands, because of their malefic
influence. They also indicates unnecessary journeys.

Signs - Mostly movable signs (1–4–7–10) indicates journeys.

There are lots of combinations for foreign travel. Although, it also depends on the placement of planets in
individual horoscope.

people.

Bhavas Concerning Foreign Travel

Third house : 3rd house represents short journey, 3rd house is 12th from 4th house

Fourth house: 4th house represents mother land or birth place of the native. Well placed 4th house
indicates the native will prosper in mother land. Also 4th house represents education.

Seventh house: 7th house represents travel

Ninth house: 9th house represents long journey, well placed 9th house indicates the person will prosper
in foreign land. 9th house also represents spiritual learning.

Tenth house: 10th house represents occupation, 10th house having relation with 9th or 3rd or 12th
house represents that native will travel aboard for occupation.

Twelfth house: 12th house is 12th from Lagna and 12th house is 9th from 4th house which represents
that native will leave mother land.

Lagna or first house: Lagna indicates the native, Lagna lord in any of the houses above indicates that
native will travel abroad.

Planets Concerning Foreign Travel

Jupiter: Jupiter is natural lord of 9th and 12th house. Jupiter being 9th lord/12th lord/3rd lord or
Jupiter occupying/aspecting 9th house/12th house/3rd house indicates foreign travel

Rahu: Rahu represents foreigners and foreign countries. Rahu in 9th house/12th house/3rd house or
Rahu aspecting above houses indicates that native will live with foreigners

Timing of fructification of foreign travel

Based on above combination, the native will have travel during Mahadasha or Bukti of

1. 3rd lord or planets in association with 3rd lord or 3rd house

2. 9th lord or planets in association with 9th lord or 9th house

3. 12th lord or planets in association with 12th lord or 12th house

4. Jupiter Mahadasha or Bukti

12th house is the house of foreign settlement and foreign countries. 4th house is your own home land, 7th
house also represents foreign lands in some way, but not that strongly. Any relation between 4th and 12th
Lord, by conjunction, aspect or mutual exchange of signs will show foreign settlement. Also malefics
influencing the 4th house like mars, Rahu and influencing the 4th Lord or moon will also show the same
thing. Rahu is very important for seeing this as it relates to foreign countries. Rahu in 4th, 7th, 12th house
can also show the same, especially the 12th house. Also it is commonly seem that people who have settled
permanently in Foreign lands have malefics influencing the moon because moon is the natural significator

As you know our ancient astrological texts were written more than 5000 years ago. Therefore so many
combinations are not relevent today. Like number of children as with the Family Planning concept & use
of contraceptives, humans have taken control of birth of children. Dwi-Bharya Yoga is now banned for
hindus as per law. Similarily, Videsh Gaman at that time was not considered good because that time
people preferred to live together in joint families.

But now every youth is interested in overseas settlement, especially USA, UK, EU Countries. Now to be
precise for Foreign travel & foreign settlement there are again different combinations. As regards travels it
is 9th house & planets associated with it. In travel also there are two categories- for studies & for training
or profession purpose even short assignments involving no permanent settlement.

The question here is Permanent Foreign Settlement for which the main house is 12th.

Rahu & Venus are significators of overseas. Therefore any connection of these planets (lordship, position,
aspect or conjunction) with 12th gives permanent foreign settlement.
Houses that are important to study for foreign settlement -

3rd house : Short Journeys

4th house : Mother Land

9th house: Long journeys

12th house : Foreign Land and settlement

Following placements in a birth chart can indicate Foreign settlement.

If lord of 3rd house is in 12th house and vice versa.

If lord of 4th house is in 12th house and vice versa
If lord of 9th house is in 12th house and vice versa.
A strong exchange or relationship between 3rd , 9th and 12th lord.
If Rahu and Ketu are in 3rd and 9th house respectively.
If Rahu and Ketu are in 6th and 12th house respectively.
If Jupiter and Ketu are conjuct in 12th house.
If Ketu is in 4th house in Sagitarius or Pisces.
If 7th lord is strongly placed in 12th house , it may mean the native is engaged in business
related to foreign countries and may frequently visit abroad.
For strong indications, more than one conditions from above should be present in the
birth chart.

What Astrology can do is show tendencies or opportunities to move residence indicated by how planets
relate to the 4th house which, among other things, rules the physical home. Information about the 4th
house shows how flexible or stable that early environmental influence was in your early life. A fixed sign
on the 4th cusp will indicate a reluctance to change. A mutable sign would indicate one who is adaptable
and goes with the flow on these matters and a cardinal sign would signify one who easily initiates changes
or moves.

I’ve lived in many different cities and in my 40’s moved residence, permanently, to another country. Each
move was beneficial to me in some way - a better job, following my heart, etc. - and although requiring
adaptability to change and adjustments, it contributed to considerable growth, and my North Node is in
my 4th house. Also with Capricorn on the cusp (a cardinal sign), I initiated the changes. You can look up
the North Node meanings, and see where in your chart it’s located, and its sign, as an indicator of things
that are good for you.

You can also find the ruler of the 4th house. If the ruler is Mars or Jupiter and one or both of them are in
the 9th house, this will indicate changes in the home environment, and Jupiter in particular can indicate
foreign residence at some time in your life.

As far as my knowledge goes planets in 4th, 7th, 9th and 12th house denotes foreign travel. As per my
experience below combinations will allow person to travel abroad (for longer duration)

1. Mars or Saturn in 4th house. I’m not sure if its necessary for them to be in same house.
2. Sun in 7th house.
3. Moon/Rahu in 9th house. I have seen chart having both the planets in same house.
4. Rahu in 12th house. This creates permanent settlement in foreign nation.
As per Vedic Astrology, Lagna Lord should be connected to 9th, 12th House for going abroad. If Lagna
lord is in Movable sign, it is good signal for going abroad. 4th house lord in 12th house gives Home and
settlement abroad. For going abroad, following houses must have connection: 1st, 4th, 9th & 12th.

Natal Chart can confirm the event in life but it is just measure of probability. It is not guaranteed. To
unfold such conditions thorough knowledge of Astrology is advised.

And the other situations is three or more plantery conjunction.

I have seen in many horoscopes that ,apart from the combinations given already by my dear friends of
astrology , weak 4th House and strong 12 House or exchange between 4th and 12 th Houses Lord are
strong indications of living abroad. In astrology , it is indicative trend and nothing is to be taken absolute.

In my daughter horoscope the nineth lord and fourth lord joined in lagna. Lagna lord aspects the 12th
lord. In her husnand horoscope , the lagna lord is a spected by 12th lord. The strong 9th lord with Raghu,
and 12th lord connected to lagna given foreign stay and foreign residence with citizenship. Strong nineth
house, Raghu connection, connection between first and twelfth house normally give foreign residence and
settlement abroad.

These are some of the factors I would examine in case I wanna look for the possibilities of permanent
foreign settlement:

1. Favorable/Strong combinations in 9th House and 12th House

2. Adverse combinations in 4th house that could make staying in the native land very difficult
3. Positioning of rahu in a way that exerts maximum influence in this regard
4. The kind of planetary period(mahadasha) that favors a migration for long term
There could be many other associated factors that arise and need to be examined on a chart by chart basis.

Potentially Saturn in Sagittarius in the 4th House or some other combination of signs, houses and aspects.
Sagittarius, the Ninth House and Jupiter denote foreign issues, philosophy and the higher mind while
Cancer, the Fourth House and the Moon denote home, roots and parents. Say you had the Moon in Cancer
conjunct the North Node in the Ninth House, you would probably live somewhere else or say your
ascendant was Sagittarius with Mars or Venus or both in the Seventh House, you might marry a foreigner
and settle in their country. Mercury, for example, in the Ninth House gives a facility with foreign
language.

I don’t think that can be determined reasonably by just looking at the natal chart. If you want to know if
you’re going to live abroad (or “when”, or “how”, etc), it’s easier and more precise to ask a horary
question.

If you want to know if you’re going to move, work, or stay abroad during a determined period of time, it’s
better to use advancement techniques on the natal chart (progressions, directions, returns, etc, for the
given period).
But, as general testimonies, which by themselves could mean a lot of other things:

many planets in the seventh or ninth houses; ruler of the 1st and/or 4th about to change signs, or in a
mutable sign, while ruler of the ninth in a fixed sign; Moon connecting ruler of the first, or Sun, and ruler
of the ninth; good stars or the north node on the ninth cusp, etc.

In astrology, there is no fixed answer or no fixed planetary combination. There can be innumerable
combinations for settling abroad.

A few points can be — 9th/12th house combinations and their rulers. Sun, moon and ascendant ruler
position in these houses or link to these houses may give you clue.

I am cancer ascendant, i have my12th house lord merucy conjunction with 4th house lord Venus in 3rd
house. And i have Jupiter in 12th house. My 7th house lord Saturn is in 6th house and Rahu in 8th house.

Which planetary positions turn a king to a beggar?

Observation:


I have seen Kings (extremely rich people) turn into a beggar in my 41+ years doing Jyotish
- Vedic Astrology. These people (now clients) came to me when they had lost every thing in
life eg. their name, fame, glory, wealth, business, spouse, children and faced legal issues
with the BIR (board of Inland Revenue) and much much more.
 I have also seen where, near to beggar (extremely humble people) turn into King (filthy
rich) which was predicted by me, this was within a short space of time say: a year to two
years.
Interpretation:

There are no Kings in the present era, say going back at least 100–150 years. Except what happened
to the royal family in Nepal in the year 2001 is totally different to this question.

I shall take this question in perspective of that of a king, who is a rich person and lost all, during a
short space of time and became a pauper / beggar.

There are many combinations to make a King into a pauper and a pauper into a King, I shall show
you, that during the dasha of the relevant planet a King (extremely rich person in the society) turned
into a pauper (beggar in your words). These people became pauper in the beginning of these dashas
and their misery last throughout the dasha, in some cases the misery went on beyond the next dasha
and more as well.

1. Sun (6 years): in Libra: Reduced to poverty, troubled by enemies and govt agencies,
failure in undertakings and business, death of siblings, spouse and friends and miserable
and complicated life. Native’s brother embezzle him with the company funds, forge
documents, even took way the native’s wife.
2. Moon (10 years): in Aquarius: Destruction of property and possessions, legal action
from govt authorities, mental worries from enemies, grave misunderstanding with
relatives, partners and friends.
 3. Mars (7 years): in Aquarius: Great hardships and difficulties, misunderstandings with
rulers/govt agencies, unpleasant relations with associates and servants.
4. Mercury (17 years): In Scorpio: Loss of spouse / sweet heart, children, riches, mental
troubles, losses from merchandise, great hatred of people and relations and loss of
reputation and power. Native was levied penalty in millions of dollars in sales (VAT),
corporation and income tax fraud. His late accountants wife, burnt all his company
records, the native was illiterate (thumb impression type) lost his case. He had a
transportation business employing more than 500 people, his trucks and assets were
publicly auctioned.
5. Jupiter (16 years): In Capricorn: Death and or illness of children, spouse always ill, loss
of property and ruin of business, loss of reputation and self-respect, irreligious acts,
sacrilegious attacks upon sacred institutions, predominance of mean motives, being
prosecuted by govt agencies and the up-springing of numerous enemies. Native was
homeless living under bridges and begging for food - door to door.
6. Venus (20 years): In Virgo: Quarrels with loved ones, business associates, servants and
spouse, separation from them, increase of loans and mortgage on property, nervous
breakdown, mental unrest, separation from relatives and friends; much grief and sorrow;
stigma on self-respect due to mean fellows; having an inclination to conceal true identity
(in govt related work).
7. Saturn (19 years): In Leo: A period of uneasiness, distrust, disappointments and unrest,
misappropriation of money and consequent prosecution, hatred by all and courting death
as a source of relief from mental worries, losses of every kind. Native was given 150 plus
years of imprisonment for fraud and not declaring taxes.
8. Rahu (18 years): In Libra: Destruction of property and possessions, loss of wealth, waste
of food or not eating enough food, loss of position, imprisonment, residence in foreign
countries - rather in exile, many miseries, hardships, business failure, litigation troubles;
physical and mental sufferings. Native was imprisoned in “immigration jail pending
deportation”.
9. Ketu (7 years): In Taurus: Many dangers, loss of loved ones, acquisition of wealth
through evil ways and means (under declaring of income, hiding off shore income, sexual
sorrows, native visits to holy waters and temples to appease god for sins committed.
Native was given 25 plus years of imprisonment for fraud. Income fraud sentenced with
severe penalties and jail time.

charts demonstrate what you are looking for.

1. Napoleon Bonaparte: Look at Rahu in the 12th house of Chandra Lagna. Observe
Jupiter dasha and Venus antardasha when things went contrary for him.

2. Bernard Lawrence "Bernie" Madoff: Look at Saturn in the 12th house of Chandra Lagna (as
his time of birth is not known). Saturn gives and Saturn takes it away before the end, classic case of
this statement.

What are indications of no marriage in Vedic astrology?

Usually No marriage combination happens due to involvement of malefic planets like Saturn,
Rahu, Ketu , Mars or Sun on 7th house of marriage or 7th house lord planet. It can also lead to
marriage with disturbance and separation later on.

Further , the parameters for a disturbed marriage , unhappiness from marriage or remaining
unmarried are almost same . There is no combination which can be termed as absolutely No
Marriage yoga.

That depends upon astrologer's style of interpretation . Some astrologers will say it confidently that it
is a no marriage yoga , while other will say it as unhappiness from marriage because it can happen by
both situations.

This happens in medicine also where doctors have different opinion on survival or death of patient
from a disease.

7th House is for marriage, spouse.

2nd House, Family and Wealth. ( A marriage adds a member to the Family)

4th House, for Domestic peace.

8th House, Marital Tie,

12th House bed pleasures.

Whichever house from these houses contain a Mooltrikona sign, it’s Lord becomes the primary
significater or Karaka for marriage.

Venus and Jupiter become the general Karakas for male and female respectively. In addition, the
lord of the Ascendant in Navamsha, D-9 chart if it has MTS and planets in the above said house
becomes secondary Karakas.

When the Karka house and Planets are strong in the birth chart and in D-9 chart, they give marriage.
If they are weak, the marriage is delayed, and if severely afflicted, then the marriage is either delayed
or denied. And if married, the marriage will not be blissful. This is the nearest interpretation.
If the entire birth chart is analysed in it’s entirety, more accurate prediction is possible.

Shani-Budh, Shani-Rahu and Shani-Ketu in 7th House, no possibility of marriage. I have tested this
and found to be true.

I have strongly seen Ketu in the 7th Lord denying marriage or making a person least interested in
getting marriage, especially when these people are trying to get married, in the day to day way of
Society Living, in the same caste, according to family, it does not work. If they somehow still manage
to get arranged in the society way, there are likely to be prone to extra marital affairs , breaking the

1. Sun & Saturn jointly interfering with 7th house either from Ascendant or from Moon or even in
navamsa Chart. The interference can be through occupation of the 7th house, or aspect of these on
7th house or 7th lord. However a strong benefic influence may either render them, wholly ineffective
or partially neutralize malefic influence. Thus giving marriage in some odd unconventional ways.

2. Sun and Saturn jointly influencing Venus, the Karka for marriage. This influence is more
damaging in the charts of ladies.

3. Ascendant trapped between two malifics e.g. Sun in 2nd and Saturn in 12th. Other way i.e. Sun in
12th and Saturn in 2nd is also pretty bad as this also constitutes what is known as Papakriti Yoga, but
malefic influence is high when Saturn is in 12th as in that case it will influence Sun and 2nd house
also Other wise also, if the degree rising in Asc. is surrounded by malefics in the same sign even, the
effect is adverse.

4. Similarly 7th house trapped or sand-witched between two malefics placed in 6th & 8th houses,
may deny. If 7th lord and Venus are also subjected to malefic influence, the denial is strengthened.

5. Saturn aspecting Ascendant or the 7th house and at the same time Sun & Saturn are either in
mutual aspect or having exchanged houses.

6. Malefic planets posited in 2nd and 7th house and some retrograde planet either placed in or
aspecting these houses.

7. 7th lord placed with Sun and aspected by Saturn, provided Jupiter is not aspecting or any way
influencing the combination.
8. Retrograde Saturn, as lord of 11th house placed in 7th house or even in 9th house may deny
marriage.

9. In case a question is put to enquire the possibility of marriage and the chart drawn on the basis of
the question time, shows Mercury, in 2nd or 4th house either from Ascendant or from Venus,
generates a Sanyas/Yoga i.e. no Marriage.

10. Weak Moon in malefic signs in 5th house and malefic planets occupying Ascendant. 7th and 12th
houses, may deny marriage. If marriage takes place somehow, it will not favour progeny and spouse
suffers.

11. 2nd, 7th & 12th houses affliected by malefics, so also Venus may create this problem

12. If Sun, Moon and Venus (or at least one out of Sun and Moon) are joined or aspected by Saturn or

Sub Lord and Sub Sub lord.

Marriage will not happen.

But suppose by chance if Nakshtra lord shows the same number (2,5,7,11 ), and sub lord, sub sub
lord denies by showing 1,6,10,12.

Marriage will not happen.
