Friedens, PA (Jan. 10, 2017) — A blood drive will be held at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran
Church on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in honor of Quincy Ogline.
Quincy was born with a congenital heart defect called Ebsteins Anomaly. He had his first open
heart surgery when he was less than 6 months old and needed blood transfusions during and
after surgery. Now only 16 months old, Quincy will need future interventions. It would not be
possible without the generosity of blood donors.
The American Red Cross has a severe winter blood shortage and has issued an emergency call
for blood and platelet donors to give now and help save patient lives, like Quincy’s. Right now,
blood and platelet donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they are coming in.
Quincy’s family invites everyone to donate.
