INTRODUCTION

For all advances in medicine and surgical techniques, surgery undoubtedly

represents a stressful event for many, around which there are concerns about death,
physical dependence, non-awakening from anesthesia, pain, illness, recovery,
separation with the family, economic and labor situation and hospitalization among
others. Before all these questions, several emotional responses can arise; anxiety,
stress, depression, which when they are very intense have important consequences
making slower and more complicated postoperative recovery.

Often people who are going to have a birth, surgery, biopsy, endoscopy, MRI,
chemotherapy, dialysis, etc., ask themselves: is there a way to prepare for it, be
calmer, with less pain and heal faster?

Yes, there is. Studies show that when the person is prepared psychologically for any
surgical intervention, providing information, teaching relaxation techniques,
listening and eliminating their fears, anxiety decreases, the hospital stay is shorter,
the pain is less therefore less need for analgesics, the post-operative is shorter and
the person has a sense of wellbeing and control.

When the person has a high degree of anxiety or stress, this can affect the response
to anesthetic drugs, blood pressure or heart rate, their wounds will delay in healing
more, your immune system will weaken and the post-operative will be longer. You
can also experience insomnia, aggression, problems in your relationships with your
doctor or staff, excessive use of analgesics, to control pain and inadequate attitudes
regarding the care of your own disease.

Given these situations we resort to the following project "a Playroom" within the
hospital, in this way the patient can go to relax and avoid the complications that
anxiety and stress cause.

The Playroom will have relaxing toys for both children and adults, children's books
and information, relaxing activities among other things so that the patient is totally
relaxed and calm for any surgical intervention.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT APPROACH

The Project Managers, Lourdes Moreno, Irene Olvera, Yeimi Rivera and Jessica
Marcelo, has the overall authority and responsibility for managing and executing
this project according to this Project Plan and its Subsidiary Management Plans.
The project team will consist of a clinical engineer, an architect, pediatrician doctors
and hospital administrators. The participating sponsors are Zemurray Foundation
and radio stereo group. The project managers will work with all resources to perform
project planning. All project and subsidiary management plans will be reviewed and
approved by the project sponsor. All funding decisions will also be made by the
project sponsor. Any delegation of approval authority to the project managers
should be done in writing and be signed by both the project sponsor and project
manager.
The project team will be a matrix in that team members from each organization
continue to report to their organizational management throughout the duration of
the project. The project managers is responsible for communicating with
organizational managers on the progress and performance of each project
resource.

THE SCOPE OF PLAYROOM PROJECT

The Scope of Playroom Project design, structure, location, the planning area to need
its. Also includes differents toys for different children depending of their special cares
about their medical problems; playroom has Bright paint this is to children be happy
in a room different than the rest of Hospital.

Is necessary to use decals all the room can be about cartoons that like children. Can’t
miss storage spaces for the books and toys maybe blankets. Playroom should remain
quiet because in one moment somebody want to read a book.Is important has
electronics area and is nice for kids because them watch a tv enjoy play videogames
and stay together with his family watch one movie.

Also is necessary has a Sofa when watch a movie and table with chair for each family
when to do one activity.Is required the personal that work in playroom to watching
and care all of room ;this people to know to do if exist emergency.

This project help a kids don’t be boring. The scope Playroom project doesn’t include
cost is free .

To need specific location for this project to design and ensure the structure of
playroom to avoid accident.

In Playroom should has a psychologist in case the patient required the information
or feel fear before surgery sometimes the children don’t be sure and they be shy by
fear .Is obligatory has medical equipment for patient example red car that has basic
medicine ,material help to solve whatever situation, defibrillator doesn’t miss; also
first aid kit to little accident.
