I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the emergence of the Social Sciences
and the different disciplines
B. Performance Standards :
The learners shall be able to connect the disciplines with their historical and social
foundations
C. Learning competencies:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Define social science as the study of society,
b. Describe the historical circumstances that led the development of the social
science
c. Explain the relevance of the study of social sciences both in the individual and
in society
d. Distinguish social sciences from the natural science and from the humanities ,
e. Illustrate situations in which social science can be applied
f. Gain appreciation about the historical development of the social science
