1. The split-tensile strength values of concrete.
2. Comparison between urged tensile strength of concrete sides.

10.2. Specimen

10.3. Tools
1. UTM Machine, “Shimadzu” brand
2. Testing Machine, “ELE” brand
3. Caliper with accuracy 0.1 mm

10.4. Steps
1. Note each specimen data: the origin, materials, wcr, slump value, the
date when it was made and tested.
2. Measure the specimen dimension.
3. Install the specimen on the machine, turn on the machine, load the
specimen until the specimen had burst, record the maximum load.

10.5. Results
1. Maximum load : 155 kN = 15805.5046 kg
2. f’c at 62 days : 22.286 kg/cm2 = 2.186 Mpa
3. Fracture type : crack
4. Sketch of specimen after crack :

10.6. Discussion
Concrete tensile strength values only range 9% - 15% from the stress
strength (Dipohusodo, 1994). Split-tensile strength of concrete cylinder is
the indirect tensile strength value of cylindrical concrete loading test
results, obtained from the test object that placed horizontally parallel to the
surface of the table tap pressure test machine (Tensile Strength Test
Method for Cut Concrete, SK SNI M-60-1990-03).

10.7. Conclusion
Split-tensile strength test of concrete cylinder B using ELE testing
machine, we get maximum load 155 kN = 15805.5046 kg.
