Type of lesson: Revision
Lesson aims:

1. to practice the use of verbs in the Present Simple;


2. to revise vocabulary related to seasons;
3. to revise vocabulary related to clothes and weather;
4. to practice the revised vocabulary.

By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:

a. identify the regular forms of Past Simple;


b. identify the Present Simple and Continuous forms verbs;
c. use the Present Simple forms of verbs;
d. use the vocabulary related to seasons;
e. use vocabulary related to clothes and weather.

Skills: Speaking, Reading, Listening

Vocabulary: words related to seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter), weather (cold, warm, rainy,
snowy, hot, windy) and clothes (jeans, dress, T-shirt, skirt, slippers, swimming).

Grammar: “to be” (Present Simple), Present Simple

Materials:text book,boards,worksheets

Interaction: T-S; S-T; group work.

Teaching methods: conversation, explanation, video presentation, quizz

Anticipated problems: Ss. may:

- not be familiar with the vocabulary and grammar issues related to the topic;
Solutions:
- to re-introduce some of the vocabulary;
- to practice the vocabulary;
- to encourage Ss to communicate.
Activity I: Warm-up (5 min)

1. aims: - to create the proper atmosphere;


- to stimulate the Ss' interest about the topic of the lesson;
- to introduce the topic of the lesson.

2. procedure: T. checks if anyone is absent, then announces the topic of the lesson. T. Tells
the Ss. that they are going to talk about seasons, about what the weather is like in each season and
what clothes are suitable for each season.

Activity II: Reading (10 min)

Aim: to practice reading

Procedure: The Students are divided into four groups, each group representing a season. Each
group has prepared projects about the season they represent, concerning the activities that can be
done in that season, what the weather is like and what sort of clothes we wear in each season. Each
group presents its project in front of the class.

Activity III: Speaking (10 minutes)

Aim: to encourage Ss to communicate in English, while talking about the weather in each season

Procedure: T. gives Ss some plastic balls, with notes in them. Each student has to read the note is
his/her ball and decide to which season it applies to. In front of the class there are four drawings,
representing the four seasons. The Ss come in front of the class and stick the note they read to the
correct drawing.

Activity IV: Video presentation (10 minutes)

Aim: to present to students information about the four seasons.

Procedure: T. shows to Ss a video presentation that she has prepared about the four seasons. In this
presentation Ss will encounter information about the weather in each season, what sort of clothes we
wear in each season and what type of activities we do in each season. The presentation also contains
a song called ˮ My favourite season ˮ and the T. encourages Ss to sing along.

Activity V: Practice (Trivia) (10min)

Aim: to check the Ss’ understanding of the presented information

Procedure: Ss. are divided into three groups and told that they are going to have a little contest. T,
asks Ss some questions about seasons, using the information that has been presented and revised. Ss.
have to answer the questions as quickly as possible. For each correct answer, the group receives one
point. At the end, the teacher announces the winners, but congratulates all the students for their
activity during the class.

Activity VI: Homework (10min)

Aim: to encourage students to practice and use the information given in class

Procedure: Ss. have to write a short text about their favourite season, using the information
discussed in class.
