1. Outline

1.1 General

SPT-200 is designed for AIS vessel monitoring purpose on land. As a PC-based

software, SPT-200 can be used in four ways:
- Single user by connecting PC to a AIS receiver.
- Multi-users by using a AIS data distributor connecting with a AIS receiver.
- Intranet users by visiting a TCIP/IP converter or server connected to a AIS
receiver.
- Internet users by visiting a remote AIS server via Internet.

1.3 Main Features

 Chart display is compliant with IHO S52 chart display standards. S57 charts
applicable.
 Individual charts are smoothly combined between. Charts can easily zoomed
in or out.

 AIS targets are automatically updated on chart with position and other status
data.
 An AIS vessel can be immediately located by select the vessel in ship list.
The located vessel will be displayed in the center of screen.
 COS, SOG and heading information is displayed.
 Quick location for a vessel is possible.
 Flag icon is displayed for vessel nationality.
 The vessel size can be easily indicated when zoomed in.
 CPA/TCPA calculation can be made on chart. The value of CPA/TCPA is also
updated automatically.
 Vessels can be programmed into groups in colors, which can help vessel
management.

2. System Initialization

2.1 Software Installation

 Run CD or USB disk /SPT-200 Setup.msi ,start installing program.

 Waiting for finishing Installation.
 Insert the USB dongle key. The software is ready to run as soon as
connected to AIS receiving system.
 Note:MS Win7 OS must run the NSR SPT-200.exe as an administrator

2.1 Software Configuration

 Port Setting
When user PC is connected with AIS receiver, Port Setting is needed.
Open “config.ini” file in “Release” folder. Set “CommName=” as current port
number. Default is“CommName=1”. For example, if the current port is COM1,
set “CommName=2”. Save the setting and exit.
 TCP/IP Setting
When user PC visits AIS TCP/IP server via Internet or Intranet, TCP/IP setting is
required.
Open “config.ini” file in “Release” folder. Set “TCP/IP=” as IP address of the
server and “Port=” as the port at the server.
Save the setting and exit.
 Initial Location

You can initial location for the software so that the center of chart will be fixed at
your location whenever you open the software.
Open “config.ini” in “Release”. Set the “Lon=”, “Lat=” and “Scale=” in
[GeoParament].
Save the file and exit.

Note:
Above configuration should be finished before running the software.

3. Minimum Requirements for PC

·CPU：Intel P4 2.0GHz
·Memory：512M
·Hard Disk：80G
·O/S：Windows 2000/XP
·Display Resolution：1280×1024
·Port：Serial port for Single/Multi users or LAN port for Internet/Intranet users.

file.
 The screen can also be printed.

 AIS Connect/Disconnect: Link the PC to AIS receiver.

 Network Connect/Disconnect: Link the PC to TCP/IP server.

 Vessel List: Open or close vessel list.

4.2 TOOL BAR

4.3 VESSEL LIST

 Special tool is designed to quickly locate a vessel by MMSI/Name/CallSign.

 Normally, a vessel can be located by select a vessel in the vessel list.
 The vessel located will be displayed in the center of window while the
detailed information of vessel is showed below the list.
 The vessels will be sorted by MMSI or Name or CallSign by clicking on the
upper bar of the list.
The vessel list will be updated timely and those vessels without updating data for
12 minutes will dispear from both the list and chart.

4.4 POSITION DATA BAR

There is a bar below the window, on which the current position of the mouse will
displayed, together with chart scale and sytem time.

5. Software Applications

5.1 Port Management

As ship size is displayed on the screen with the same proportion as the chart. It’s very easy to read
the port situation from the screen, which can facility the port administration greatly.

5.2 Vessel Grouping

With color designing tool, it’s easily to make some vessels

into several groups with different colors. It’s useful for
shipping companies to identify own vessels from a lot of
AIS targets.

5.3 Vessel Tracking

A particular vessel can be easily tracked by locking the vessel target in the screen center. While
moving, the vessel is always displayed still with the chart moving in opposite direction. The
function is also called “remote-pilot” as you can feel you are just piloting the vessel onboard.

5.4 Vessel Management

A ship manager can plan the route for his vessel and monitor the vessel whether she sails on
designed route. Any bias from the route or mis-operation can be warned or prompted to the captain.
