1. Installation

1.1 Room Layout

Picture 1: Site Layout for Shelter.

To every indoor site we try to follow the layout that is shown above. RBS cabinet must be
installed left of the door and close to the wall. The margins we must leave are shown in the
next diagram. To the back, about 150mm and to the left close to the wall. In front it must
have 750mm margin.

1.2 Cabinet mounting

We mount the cabinet to the floor using the earthquake kit.

Picture 3: Earthquake kit 8mm diameter, 80mm length. It is similar to
that we use for RBS Ericsson.

· Fix the back side earthquake kit on the floor.

· Push the cabinet so as to insert the feet into the kit. Perhaps you should move the
220VAC socket and the light switch before install the cabinet.
· Mount the last two parts at the front side feet.
· Put a metal plate to mount the top of the cabinet
· If the installation is inside a shelter, move the electric sockets.

a fuse 50A (63 if
50A is not
available). Label
is 3110 for the
first cabinet. For
the second it is

1.4 2Mbits Line

The cable that we use for ABIS has 4x4 wires and a grounding wire. Each quadruplet of
wires has three wires with the same color (white-purple- azure) and differs only to one wire
(blue or brown or orange or green). ABIS must be connected on top of the RBS to the
position it is shown below. The cover around the cable is the grounding and it is connected
only to one point, to the RL cabinet. The label of the cable must be 7111.

Table 1: Configuration of the pins of terminal ABIS connector. To the pins 5, 6, 11, 12,
17, 18, 23, 24 that are the groundings we connect nothing. We ground Abis cable only to
RL cabinet.

1.5 External Alarms

Inside every Siemens cabinet there is a termination point for 12 alarms. This point lies in
front of the cabinet, up-right. These positions are for special sensors of the cabinet but we
can use them for external alarms. But from these 12 positions only 7 are available to connect
external alarm cables. The label for the cable from BTS to RL cabinet is 6113.

1.6 Jumpers
Jumpers are female straight - male angle, 1.5m long They come with the cabinet. Installer
must cut the plastic insulation at the point where it touched RBS (see photo). Also pay
attention to second jumper of DUAMCO 3 because it obstructs HALCA connector to
connect on BTS.

This jumper must be put

here because of Local
Management port.
