2 Objective​: ​To create a self​-​directed project which demonstrates your skills and learning in
the course​.
● The project must demonstrate the goal of this course which is​:
“​To be a good psychologist, psychiatrist, or mental counselor, we need to understand and are
able to analyze why people act, feel, and​ ​think in a certain way in order to help them
find solutions to their problems​.”

● The project must demonstrate the connection between ​any topic from Unit 1 or 2 and
Unit 3 topics ​which include​:

Step 1 ​- ​Build Your Learning Team or Individual Learning

Students can choose to work individually or build learning teams consisting of 2​-​4 students

● The product must clearly demonstrate the course​’​s essential understandings and
selected concepts​/​theories based on your selected prompt​.
● The product must be able to present itself ​(​without you there to explain it​).
● The product must be appropriate for the number of students in the group​.
● Choose one from the following list​:

Our product will be a comic book that includes about 10 pages with colorful pictures.

Content Explanation​: ​(​Explain how the theories and concepts will be used to demonstrate the
essential understandings of Unit 2 in your product​. ​The content should be based on your
selected prompt​. ​There should be the theoretical explanation presented in your product in the
creative way​.)

We are going to do a comic book which has 3 topics including ​Nature VS Nurture, ​Hierarchy of
Needs combine with psychological disorder and Psychotherapy.

He was born with Schizophrenia as a Nature but it is not serious. There are some triggers
that cause him PTSD and that makes his Schizophrenic conditions become worse (Nature
and Nurture). Hierarchy of Needs shows how he developed the disorders. He lack of self
esteem, safety needs and love and belonging. That also worsened his schizophrenic
conditions. He use medicine like a​ ntipsychotic drugs ​to get rid of ​Schizophrenia and PTSD.
At the end, he decides to stop using the medicine because of the side effects and decides to
use talking therapy with his wife and meets more people.

Step 4 - ​Individually, create ​learning records ​according to the given ​template ​(​on the next
page​)​, while you are working on your​ ​product (put them on your Weebly)​.

Each lesson, you should think about what you want to learn or what information you need to
find ​(​for both content part and product making part, for example, you might research about the
characteristics of a therapy for the content part while researching about how to create a good
music video​). ​Then, summarize what you have learnt each day and reflect​/​analyze it​. ​Do not
forget to add references to the sources that you have used in APA format​.
