Guidelines for Organizing the Exhibit of the Life of the Servant of God Frank Duff

A. Overview of the Exhibit

The Exhibit of the life of the Servant of God Frank Duff was a response to the call of
the Senatus of the Northern Philippines for Filipino legionaries to intensify the promotion of
the cause for beatification, and ultimately sainthood, of the Legion of Mary’s founder. It was
first launched during the 37th death anniversary of Bro. Duff on Nov. 7, 2017, which was held
at the Manila Cathedral. Organized by the legionaries of St. John Bosco Parish under the
Makati Comitium, the Exhibit was part of two other activities held on the same day which was
a holy mass and a one-hour talk on the founder’s life and apostolate. With over 500 people
attending holy mass and encountered by the legionaries during crowd contact, the one-day
Exhibit proved to be an effective means of promoting Frank Duff as well as the works and
aims of the Legion of Mary.

Legionaries who witnessed the event expressed their desire to also hold the Exhibit in
their own areas. Inspired by this, the Makati Comitium is sharing the Exhibit to all interested
councils of the Senatus of Northern Philippines through the promotion of causes working
team. This way, the apostolate of promoting Frank Duff would have a wider reach.

B. Scheduling of Exhibit

The Exhibit could be set-up for as short as 1 day and as long as 5-7 days (depending
on availability). However, the recommended period is 3 days starting Friday and ending on a
Sunday so that more people can participate.

The 3-day period also allows Councils to organize other activities such as a holy mass,
talks, and others, should they want to.

Interested councils can approach Sis. Val Averia, coordinator of the promotion of
causes for exemplary legionaries for the Makati Comitium and acting chair for the same

C. Pre-Exhibit Preparation

To ensure a wide reach, Councils can start inviting crowds to the exhibit 1-2 months
prior to the event. Suggested invitation formats:

• Posters
• Fliers
• Text blasts
• Facebook announcements

A team of at least 5 persons should also study the life of Frank Duff and read the
materials to explain his life story to people.

Councils are encouraged to make the Exhibit as interactive as possible. As crowds

come in, legionaries should approach them and tell his story while referring to the materials.

D. Pick-up and Return of Exhibit Materials

Interested councils must secure a vehicle to pick up and return the exhibit materials at
this address:

19841 Oak St. Executive Heights Subdivision, Paranaque Metro, Manila.

Directions: From Makati, take south super hi-way. You will pass by Magallanes and
Villamor. Keep right to go up Nichols, passing by Villmor to enter service road OR take the
Merville Exist to enter the west service road. Just go straight until you see Robinsons
Supermarket. Turn right. Go straight until you see a 7-eleven. Entrance to Executive Heights
is after it. Take left to enter. From the guard house, turn RIGHT - Almond. Turn LEFT-Fir. Turn
RIGHT- Willow. Turn RIGHT- Oak. 19841 maroon gate.

Date of pick up and return of materials could be arranged with Sis. Val.

Upon pick-up and return of materials, the CHECKLIST, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, and

AGREEMENT forms will be provided, which must be signed by the council representatives.

Recommended vehicle is the size of an Avanza. 1-2 representatives of the Makati

Comitium may accompany the council during the pick-up.

E. List of Exhibit Materials

The Makati Comitium commits to provide the following:

• 9 frames the size of _____ featuring the different episodes of Frank Duff’s life
• 1 luggage contain ___ smaller photo frames size 8”X10” and 3R
• 1 bag containing___ books and other smaller paraphernalia
• Files or links of Frank Duff videos to play in loop mode

Template councils can use for printing:

• Testimonial forms for favors received
• Prayer petition

F. Ways and Means for the Legion House

To support the construction of the Legion House, the Makati Comitium requests
councils to include in the Exhibit a souvenir area, which includes the Frank Duff “The Secret of
Influence is Love” t-shirts (please refer to the appendix for pictures) for sale. Each shirt costs
P400. Prior to the event, the council could already notify the Makati Comitium on how many
shirts they would like to order.

Legionaries in the host council who are assigned in the exhibit area could also buy
and wear these shirts themselves to promote Frank Duff (please refer to the picture).

All proceeds will directly go to the fund for the Legion House.

G. Set-up and Materials for Councils to Prepare

• 1 complete set of the Legion altar

• minimum of 9 easel stands or equivalent to hold the frames (refer to APPENDIX)
• 2 long tables for framed pictures, books, and other materials
• Souvenir table for giving stampitas, Frank Duff cards and also showcase Frank Duff shirts
for sale
• Laptop, speakers, extension cords, projector - to show Frank Duff videos
• 1multimedia table/area
• 1 petitions table/area for people to write their petitions/prayers answered

Other suggestions:

• 1-2 guest list books (for visitors to sign their names so that Councils can track how
many attended)
• Decorative items to beautify the Exhibit (flowers, table mantles, etc.)

H. During the Exhibit

Councils may arrange for the priest to bless and officially open the exhibit.
Legionaries assigned are encouraged to maximize the event by approaching the visiting
crowds and talking to them about the Legion of Mary and Frank Duff.

At no point should the exhibit be left unattended for security purposes.

I. Fees for Damages or Lost Items

The Exhibit is issued gratis. However, should there be items that are damaged or lost
during the exhibit period, the Council will be responsible for the cost of its replacement. For
the 9 big frames, each frame’s total cost is P800.
