Service tool V3400 for resetting Canon printers counter

The Service Tool V3400, and service tool V3600, allow you to reset the waste ink pad counter on some Canon printers: 

You can solve the messages errors "Waste Ink Tank Full" or "Waste Ink Pad Full", "error 5B00" or "Error P07" on these printers:

Canon Pixma iP2700, iP4800, iP4810, iP4840, iP4850, iP4900, iP4910, iP4940, iP4970, iP4980, iP4990, iP5810, iP5880

V3400 Canon Service Tool for all iPxxxx series, iX series, MGxxxx series, MP series printers maintenance and reset.

How using the Service Tool V3400 ?

1- Dowload and install the Service Tool Canon V3400

2- Enter in maintenance mode with the printer:

- Power off the printer

- Connect the printer to the central unit with an usb cable
- Hold on the "Resume" button (triangle in a circle) et press "Power"
- Hold on these two buttons until the led power lights.

-  Release the "Resume" button, but not the power button, and press 5 times "Resume".
- Release the two buttons. Leds will ash, wait until it stops. Now you are in Maintenance Mode
3- Run the Service Tool V3400
4- Choose the right USB port in "USB PORT"

5- In the section "Ink Absorber Counter", choose "Main" 

6- In the section "Counter Value" (%) choose the number the closest of the counter number and clik on "SET" (The counter number is in the section

"EEPROM")

Troubleshooting:

Error 002: a fonction is not supported by the printer

Error 005:  The printer is not compatible with this Service Tool

Error 006

Service tool V3400 inactive

I have tried this four times and it did not work.

If i want to set the Ink Absorber Counter to zero or ten percent, error 002 appears.

Hi Christophe,

For error 002, try this:

Power of the printer
Plug the USB cable into another USB port on the computer
Execute again the Service Tool V3400

For error 009, it's possible that a cartridge is empty or baldy installed.

Followed the instructions for my MG5650. I'm left with the yellow warning triangle light on, and the service tool runs but
nothing is enabled, as if it can't nd the printer. The only lights on this model are one inside the power button and the
warning triangle below the reset button.
Any ideas?

I am using mg2570. While switch on printer it's sensing by the service tool and become bright.but when printer set to
service mode, service tool turned to dim and unable to select functions. Same time ppin printer yellow led will glow after
5th press.if it is 6th long press green power led will glow. In both cases service tool not working. Please help me to solve
problem.consider urgent

If the cartridge is emptu, you need to replace it by a full one.

I have the same problem with error 009. I get it whatever I try to do except when reading the EEPROM, that works. I had
a empty cartridge but I have changed that and it still shows the same fault. Is there a hardware reset that can be done

Yeah, great! My printer has had error c610 several times. Until now solution 1 worked, but this time it didn't. Solution 4
had solved the problem. I'm very glad my printer is working again.

Hi,
I have the Cannon Pixma MG2500. Getting error 1700. The Ink Absorber is almost full. I know that if I use it a lot more I
wouldeventually get the error that it is full. I had the same problem with my previous printer MG2400 and threw it away
because I thought it was a hassle to x it. There are so cheap to buy. In the other hand, I print so much and it has not
even been a year since I got this printer. When I talked to the people at Cannon regarding my previous printer they said
that he counter goes by the number of printed pages and not necessarily by the actual ink absorbers been full. I really do
not want to take the printer apart and clean the absorbers and wait my time if the counter says that it is full because of
the amount of printed pages. I would like to use the TOOL_V3400 to x it if it is the best way. I want to make sure I get
one that has no viruses. Do you have a good link? If so can you explain step by step how to use it.

Hello good evening Amelia, I faced same problem as you mentioned. I tried many times to rectify the problem by
downloading v3400, but not succeed since the application is not designed for mg2570.as per Canon staff, mg2570 is
made for very less printers. Available solution is to change the card, may worth rs2000. Another suggestion is replacing
of its counter IC. It is available in online marketing. But from India I can't purchase the IC, so I replaced card by rm. Best
