HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH

● The last day of school is June 15th. Have a wonderful summer!

● Students receive homework on school days from Monday-Thursday evenings.

● Students will receive a Summer Workbook to practice their fourth grade skills during the summer.

In Literacy…
Students will focus on informational text and
determine main idea, explain events, procedures,
ideas, or concepts in the text and refer to details and
examples in a text when explaining what the text
says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the
text.
In Math…
Students will begin by fluently adding and
subtracting multi-digit whole numbers using the
standard algorithm. They will solve multistep word
problems posed with whole numbers and having
whole-number answers using the four operations,
and finish the year with generating a number or
shape pattern that follows a given rule.

In Writing...
Students will complete an informative writing piece.
We will begin by selecting a topic, researching and
gathering information, and planning our ideas. The
ideas will be developed with an introduction,
supported by strong linking reasons, and followed up
with a concluding paragraph.
