Ballet Class 

All of the following is used to strengthen the upper and lower body for both jumps and partner 
work. Meant to be very fast but short exercises. Also I wanted to get revenge for having to do all 
steps the girls do. 
  

Barre 
 
Foot Warm Up - Living on a Prayer (Bon Jovi) 
 
Start in parallel, prepare, Walk for 8, Jump for 8, repeat in first, jump out to second position on 

8th jump, repeat in second, jump back to first on 8th jump, step back from barre (1, 2), stretch 

over (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), release and stretch down for 2 8 counts, and finish. 

Total time - 45 seconds 

Plié - Shout (Tears For Fears) 

Right:Start in first, prepare, 2 demi pliés (2 counts each), 1 grande plié (4 counts), port de bras 

forward and back (8 counts each), repeat in 2nd (using side port de bras)/4th/5th, tendu back to 

first, finish. 

Left:Start in first, prepare, 2 demi pliés (2 counts each), 1 grande plié (4 counts), port de bras 

forward and back (8 counts each), repeat in 2nd (using side port de bras)/4th/5th, tendu back to 

first, finish. 

Total time - 2 minutes, 40 seconds 

 
 

Tendu - Billie Jean (Michael Jackson) 

Right:Start in fifth, prepare, 5 tendus en croix (1 count each), hold 6/7/8, repeat starting side, 

then repeat starting back, repeat starting side, repeat ENTIRE exercise, plié, balance in sus-sous, 

finish. 

Left:Start in fifth, prepare, 5 tendus en croix (1 count each), hold 6/7/8, repeat starting side, then 

repeat starting back, repeat starting side, repeat ENTIRE exercise, plié, balance in sus-sous, 

finish. 

Total time - 80 seconds 

Degagé - Billie Jean (Michael Jackson) 

Right:Start in fifth, prepare, 5 degagés en croix (1 count each), hold 6/7/8, repeat starting side, 

then repeat starting back, repeat starting side, repeat ENTIRE exercise, plié, balance in coupé, 

finish. 

Left:Start in fifth, prepare, 5 degagés en croix (1 count each), hold 6/7/8, repeat starting side, 

then repeat starting back, repeat starting side, repeat ENTIRE exercise, plié, balance in coupé, 

finish. 

Total time - 80 seconds 

 
Rond de jambe - Man in the Mirror (Michael Jackson) 

Right: 4 rond de jambes en dehors (1 count each), brush front (5), carry side then back (6,7), 

close back (8), reverse that, plié (1), relevé (2,3,4), balance in Cecchetti passé (side of the knee). 

Left: 4 rond de jambes en dehors (1 count each), brush front (5), carry side then back (6,7), close 

back (8), reverse that, plié (1), relevé (2,3,4), balance in Cecchetti passé (side of the knee). 

Total time - 1 minute 

Assemblé - Take on Me (A-Ha) 

Right:Start in 5th, prepare, perform 4 stationary assemblés front/side/back (2 counts each), 

circular port de bras front and back (4 counts each), balance with the working leg in second 

(going through coupé). 

Left:Start in 5th, prepare, perform 4 stationary assemblés front/side/back (2 counts each), 

circular port de bras front and back (4 counts each), balance with the working leg in second 

(going through coupé). 

Total time - 90 seconds 

 
Frappé - Human Nature (Michael Jackson) 

Right:Start in 5th, prepare, 4 frappés en croix (1 count each), 4 doubles en croix (1 count each), 4 

triples en croix (1 count each), 8 frappés side (1 count each), repeat entire exercise to the back, 

slide leg up to passé, hold, finish. 

Left:Start in 5th, prepare, 4 frappés en croix (1 count each), 4 doubles en croix (1 count each), 4 

triples en croix (1 count each), 8 frappés side (1 count each), repeat entire exercise to the back, 

slide leg up to passé, hold, finish. 

Total time - 1 minute, 50 seconds (roughly) 

Stretch - All Out of Love (Air Supply) 

Free stretch for entire song. 

Total time - 4 minutes 

Grand Battement - Heat of the Moment (Asia) 

Right:Start in 5th, prepare, 4 battements en croix (2 counts each), close 1st, balancé for 2 8 

counts bent leg/attitude, then 2 8 counts straight leg, on the 8th straight leg, turn other side. 

Left:Start in 5th, prepare, 4 battements en croix (2 counts each), close 1st, balancé for 2 8 

counts bent leg/attitude, then 2 8 counts straight leg, on the 8th straight leg, turn other side. 

Total time - 90 seconds 

 
Balancé - Heat of the Moment (Asia) 

Each swing is 1 count 

Right:Start in first, prepare with a tendu back, 8 attitude swings , 8 straight leg swings, 4 attitude 

swings, 4 straight leg swings, 2 attitude swings, 2 straight leg swings, turn other side. 

Left:Start in first, prepare with a tendu back, 8 attitude swings , 8 straight leg swings, 4 attitude 

swings, 4 straight leg swings, 2 attitude swings, 2 straight leg swings, turn other side. 

Total time - 40 seconds  

Center 

Conditioning - Flowers (Moby) 

Bring Sally up, bring Sally down exercise. 

Total time - Depends on how much I want to get people to hate me. (1 minute to 3 ½ minutes) 

More conditioning - Flowers (Moby) 

Bring Sally up, bring Sally down with leg lifts. 

Total time - Depends on how much I want to get people to hate me. (1 minute to 3 ½ minutes) 

MORE conditioning - Pour Some Sugar on Me (Def Leppard) 

16 normal crunches, 16 crunch-sit ups, hold a crunch position, 16 crunch circles. 

Total time - 1 minute, 30 seconds 

 
Self-stretch off barre - Animal (Def Leppard) 

Stretch on your own for whole song (4:07) 

Adagio - Come Together (The Beatles) 

Right:Grand plié (4 counts), chassé (2 counts), prepare in fourth (1 count), pirouette (single, 1 

count), turn around (1 count), prepare (1 count), double en dedans (2 counts), land fifth back + 

changement to grand plié (1 count jump, 2 count grand), pirouette out of grand plié (single, 1 

count), hold leg in second (7), close (8). 

Left:Grand plié (4 counts), chassé (2 counts), prepare in fourth (1 count), pirouette (single, 1 

count), turn around (1 count), prepare (1 count), double en dedans (2 counts), land fifth back + 

changement to grand plié (1 count jump, 2 count grand), pirouette out of grand plié (single, 1

counts each), tombe pas de bourrée (2 counts), hold until the next 8, repeat.

From corner - Grand battement (1), balancé left + right (2,3), sauté arabesque (4), sauté 

passé(5), tombe pas de bo-Chassé(6), 2 runs(7), saut de chat(8). 

Total time - 10 seconds (per group of 2) 

Reverence - Never Gonna Give You Up (Rick Astley) 

Follow Along - Grand plié (1,2,3,4), cambré forwards and back (5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4), stepside (5,6), 

bow (7,8).
