Yes. Jus In Bello is applicable in this case. Jus in Bello is also referred to as the laws of
armed conflict or the law of war. Its purpose is to limit the suffering caused by war by
protecting and assisting its victims as far as possible.1 It protects those who are not or are no
longer participating in the hostilities and restricts the means and methods of warfare. It
addresses the reality of a conflict rather without considering the reasons for or legality of
resorting to force. International Human Rights is intended to protect the victims and their
fundamental rights, no matter to which party they belong. It comprises those rules of
international law which establishes minimum standards of humanity that must be respected in
any situation of armed conflict.2

In this case, there is an existing armed conflict between the Kingdom of Candaba and
the Republic of Mimosa. If armed conflict exist International Humanitarian Law will come in,
and that the role of International law in this case is to limit the effects of armed conflict by
providing protection to persons who are not, or no longer, participating in armed conflict. 3
International Humanitarian Law will then regulate the activity during the existence of the armed
conflict and the situations of occupation by the Kingdom of Candaba to the Republic of
Mimosa. In this case the International Humanitarian law is also empowered to restrict the
means and methods of warfare.
