For this year’s service hours, I decided to complete multiple different tasks that helped
my community as well as to develop me as person. This first task I completed was the CWNC
open house in both the fall and spring. At these events I gave tours to prospective families
thinking of coming to CWNC and talked to families interested in coming to wrestle on CWNC’s
wrestling team By doing this I was able to give back to the school that has helped to educate me
over the course of the past three years. I also volunteered with the PA Fish and Boat Commission
at their annual electrofishing of Kahle Lake. Here I helped shuttle fish in buckets to be measured
and scooped fish out of the water as they were given a small jolt (no fish were harmed). This
allowed me to give back to the group that has provided the fishing opportunities to me. I also
volunteered at Joella Baker’s Shamrock Shuffle 5k race packet handout which was an
opportunity for me to help somebody that had trained me over the past few years. Lastly, I
volunteered with CWNC’s track and field team. I attended some of their meets and invitationals
where they needed help with timers and other various tasks associated with running the meet. By
completing this activity, I was able to give back to the team that I had competed on for the past
few years.
