Main target groups: Syrian Refugees and disadvantaged Turkish people who live in Sultanbeyli , İstanbul
Description of the activity (please explain the needs it addresses(d), the aim and objectives, the main activities
and methodology of work)
● Synopsis (short description- max 100 words): This project Vocational Skills Development is cooperated
with Turkish and German partners. The project will be open to young and adult Syrians as well as
Rights to go is supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe
underprivileged Turks (unskilled, unemployed persons). This will not only boost the integration of the
Syrian refugees into Turkish society but also create an added value for the host communities.
Project aims to supply the Syrian and Turkish participants with the necessary skills to derive an income from the
pursuit of employed or entrepreneurial activities. Firstly Turkish language course open, then construction
course start.
Who were the partners involved in the activity and what was their role?
RASASA: Local Partner for finding trainees and providing trainings. (Project Implementer)
Woodworking and Painting Chamber: Local Partner for jobcoahing and employment.
What were the challenges you faced in implementing this activity? What were the lessons learned?
Language barriers and work permits are our biggest challenge in this project.
