Pediatrician Accreditation Pilot to Improve HPV Vaccination Rates

Research shows the HPV vaccine prevents cancer, and preteens can be protected by strong provider
recommendation. Enrollment is now open for pediatricians in Illinois and Wisconsin for an
accredited quality improvement project to increase vaccination rates, and participants can register
on an individual basis or by practice.

Oconomowoc, WI, May 24, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Enrollment is now open for an initiative aimed to
improving HPV vaccination rates in preteens. Launched by the Wisconsin and Illinois Chapters of the
American Academy of Pediatrics, the program establishes a virtual learning collaborative of pediatricians
from both states. The initiative is funded in part by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the
Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Program.

Providers will benefit from a series of educational modules, project conference calls and one-on-one
technical support to complete data entry. Upon completion of the project, participants will receive 20
Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV points from the American Board of Pediatrics.

Mala Mathur, MD, MPH, FAAP, president of the Wisconsin Chapter and co-project leader, said, “This is
a unique opportunity for providers looking for a one-stop program to improve their practice. We are
fortunate to offer this educational program at no cost and with tremendous peer and expert supports.”

Both individuals and groups/practices are invited to enroll. Individuals can visit icaap.remote-learner.net,
create a user account, then register for the “HPV Vaccine Quality Improvement Project” course. To enroll
a group or practice, contact Dru O'Rourke, Project Manager, dorourke@illinoisaap.com or 312.773.1026,
ext. 207. Interested providers are encouraged enroll by June 8, 2018.
