Date of Submission: 21/05/2018 Student Name: Amaya Durnin

PLANNING OVERVIEW – TERM
Year Level Unit Title Salvation Topic Aspect of Human Development
4 Coming to your Table Eucharist Wondering at the Creator
Overview – explanation of the content of the unit and how it explores the Salvation Topic and development of the Human Person
This unit will begin to discuss and wonder about the physical differences that occur between people (A1). It will discuss some of the reasons why God created
people the way that they are what God Himself may be like (A2). Students then explore that the followers of Jesus understand that physical differences are
one way in which God reminds everyone that they are all special to Him (A3).
Secondly, students will discover ways in which Jesus loved every human individual regardless of their physical differences (B1). To do this Jesus drew everyone
closer to himself through Holy Communion (B2).
Thirdly, Catholics come to recognise that Holy Communion is a representation of Jesus showing how close he would like to get to them. The bread and wine
are made from many grains and wheat to represent the Body and Blood of Jesus. Both of these components reminds Catholics how close Jesus wants to draw
them together during Holy Communion (C1). The unit also recognises the fact that Catholics celebrate the Eucharist as God’s family (C2). Students discuss how
frequently the Eucharist is celebrated and that the more often it is celebrated the more Catholics are helped by Jesus to love others as themselves regardless
of differences (C3). Lastly, it is important that Catholics continue to remember that Jesus has always strengthened his followers to love everyone regardless of
their physical differences (C4).
